"Excellent location. 45 minutes transfer from UVF International Airport. 15 minutes drive to Soufrière town, Gros Pitón, Sugar Beach, Sulphur Springs. 25 minutes drive to a must see Anse Chastanet beach. Accommodation. I stayed in a hilltop shabby chic style cottage with a plunge in pool. It’s all you need and more - a deck with two lounge chairs and a couch complimented by a stunning rainforest view. The chic is getting a tard shabby - I hope the resort will renovate at some point. I don’t recall I’ve seen the plunge in pool being cleaned. The hilltop is windy and drops foliage into it - hard to catch up with cleaning, however, if the cottage was equipped with pool skimmer net, it would be helpful. Amenities - very well maintained. Beautiful territory-you don’t need a tour to Diamond Botanical Gardens, you stay in one. Customer service. Exceptional. Special thanks to the Front Desk ladies - Feresia and Albertha - for answering my numerous questions, booking all my tours and island transportation, including airport transfer. Practical tips. Standard power outlet is type G, 3-pin rectangular plug. Bring adopters if you are a non-UK visitor. Tropical rainforest comes with mosquitoes and symphony orchestra of nocturnal creatures. Mosquitoes are supposedly active at dusk and dawn. My experience- they are active 24/7. Do not step out without repellent on. Use bed mosquito screen. Bring plug in mosquito traps and after bite ointment. Check your end-tables for ear plugs, unles"

"This rental is situated on a beautiful property on the top of a mountain. The staff is five star all the way. Tamara and Cletus made us feel at home while staying at the Hermitage Jewel. Tamara is an awesome cook and overall great human. It was inviting and well-appointed. The driver, Dave, is a stellar guy. He takes so much pride in his service and really takes are of you. The house itself is a bit rustic but it is exactly as it is described. There are mosquitoes but just be prepared. It is in the jungle so this is expected. House is clean and has all the amenities for a great stay. We recommend getting the groceries you need for your stay early on (like on the way). There is drinking water on site in a five-gallon jug. Once you are up at the property, it is not close to stores and the closest restaurant is quite a steep walk (approx 10 min). We are from a mountainous area and thought the road up to the home was quite steep. Taxi service is about 40-50 roundtrip to get groceries or anything else in Soufriere. The ATM is also in town so make sure you have access to cash, we used cash more than card. Let Tamara or Dave help you arrange excursions- they won't steer you wrong and they use people that are super trust-worthy and insured. The view from the deck is stunning. The gardens are really neat and well maintained. We took walks through them daily to look at the fruit trees and flowers. Lots of birds and lizards! Overall, this was a great stay with unbelievable views."

"This house has amazing views and great privacy. However, all the rooms except 2 bedrooms are open air. So birds and lizards were always in the kitchen and bugs and mosquitoes were a constant problem, even with good bug spray. Hot water was not always available for showers. The rules for the house said housekeeping would come 3 times a week, but the person only came once. The kitchen was stocked well. If privacy and views are what you are looking for, this is great. If bug and critter free lodging is what you are looking for, keep looking. "

"This was the most amazing place, the peacefulness and the views are the best! Kermit was very helpful as well as the onsite workers. We loved making meals in the kitchen, that had all the cooking essentials needed and hanging by the pool. Some things are in need of updates/replacing but it was nothing to hinder the greatness and enjoyment of the house. Thank you all who helped make it a great vacation. On a side note that has nothing to do with the house but getting there, once you get off the main road it's quite a tricky drive with massive potholes etc but after a flat tire and some practice on them i think i got driving on them down! :) And for someone that is nervous of mountain roads/heights that was not an issue at all. "
