"Good location. Quiet for a downtown hotel"
Not overly fancy but a nice clean, well-run downtown hotel. Close to amenities such as Sobey's Foods, 104th Street and City Centre Mall.

"A Cute Boutiquey Whyte Ave Hotel"
The Varscona is unique! It conveniently has a Second Cup located at the bottom of it, in addition to a Pub and an upscale Canadian restaurant. The beds are comfortable, they have flat screen tv's in each room and an ihome audio alarm clocks next to the beds which is convenient for iphone users like myself. I loved the fact that I was greeted by European scenery on the flat screen tv! I found that to be so original! What made my stay phenomenal though was the staff! Every person that I spoke with, from the bell man to the maids, were all nice and went out of their way to say hello and make sure that I had everything I needed. The rooms were clean and I enjoyed the waffles in the morning, in addition to the free newspapers. I heard rumors that the hotel will be undergoing some changes in the up and coming months, and I am looking forward to seeing what this boutiquey hotel brand comes up with next! Thanks for making my trip to Edmonton a great one!

"Excellent extended stay hotel"
Newer building, excellent room size, with a kitchenette. We stayed for a week, 7 nights in June, 2011. With two older kids, this was a great option for us as they were able to offer two beds plus a pull out so our kids didn't have to share a bed. Friendly staff, nice facilities, quiet room. There are lots of dining options within a mile.

"Excellent price for the room. This hotel made me feel welcome."
An excellent location for a quiet family holiday get together. Fully self-contained and conveniently located. Dollar value is exceptional when comparing with other similar rated hotels in the city. I would recommend to anyone.

"Days in the heart of Edmonton"
The Days Inn overall was a comfortable experience but I wouldn't rank it as extraordinary. The location is beautiful if you want to experience the bustling heart of Edmonton, filled with multiple restaurants and coffee houses that meet the needs of many. As for the hotel itself, I was disappointed that there was no mention of extra costs for parking (it's $15.00 a night) and that there is no continental breakfast. The fitness room is incredibly small and the restaurant in the hotel was closed when we visited. Our room was comfortable and beds were perfect! The bathroom was nice and secluded and we had a great view of the city. It doesn't have a fridge or DVD player but the building was quiet and our room easy to find. Overall a pleasant experience

"Nice hotel but close to traffic"
Arrived at 4PM but room was not ready. No big problem but surprised. They advertise complimentary breakfast but not available to those who book online from a 3rd party. No issues with the room, except with the bright parking lot lights outside our room. Did not eat in the restaurant so can't comment on the quality or value. Getting in and out of the parking lot can be tricky during commuter hour. The exit is near an entrance to a freeway. Going east on the adjacent freeway is also iffy since you must drive over about 5 lanes to make a left turn in about 200 feet.

"VERY nice hotel. Yes, it's a bit rough around the edges."
This is still a VERY nice hotel - comfortable, quiet rooms, heat works (quietly, no less!), good staff, and premium location. In mid-winter, paying $23/night for heated downtown parking was not an annoyance. Paying extra for "premium" wireless internet service WAS annoying (the free service was very slow). The bathroom could have used some grout work and paint touchup. Yes, the TV was sad, old, and bulky, but the picture was fine. The Christmas season is a great time to stay at this hotel, especially if you want to shop or sightsee downtown.

"exceptional value and service"
Following a warm greeting, I was upgraded to a beautiful suite (unsolicited). The king size bed was comfortable and the soaker tub appreciated. The decor was lovely, particularly the stained glass slider separating the bedroom from the living room. The room was clean and spacious. Brunch was excellent, as well. Staff was helpful and friendly on every occassion, assisting me with public transportation information, airport transportion and shuttle service to the mall. Altogether a truly fantastic stay.
