The Little Cedar - overlooking South Black Creek

Bring a good book, camera, or fishing pole. This cabin in the woods is located off the beaten path, Situated on a sidehill next to a meandering mountain stream. The deck is partially screened and a grill is provided for outside cooking. A set of steps take you down to the creek where there is a fire ring for your evening campfire. All the basics are here, pots, pans, dishes, gas stove, refrigerator, microwave and gas fireplace. One queen size bed in the bedroom. A sofa bed which is a queen or and single hide-a-bed in the living room, this will be an option as they face each other in the room so only one can be open at a time. You will need to bring your own linens and food for your relaxing retreat. We do have bundled firewood available for sale at the cabin or at our shop on Route 220 South of Dushore. This cabin is unplugged, No wifi, no cell service, no tv.
The cabin is approximately seven miles from the down of Dushore, Pa which has two small grocery stores a Family Dollar Store and two gas stations.
PLEASE NOTE *** This is a cabin in the woods, not a spa retreat or a pristine property in the country, you may encounter Mosquitos, flies, gnats, spiders, ants, mice, bats, ducks, birds, skunks, porcupine, fox, coyote, deer, bear, just to name a few. If you have a fear of any of these you might be happier staying at home, Save yourself the trouble of asking for a refund because you feel unsafe. We do our very best to make this property clean and comfortable. In the Fall and spring we Do have to evict mice from the cabin and it does involve placing "special food" for them in strategic places in the cabin. Be realistic with your expectations of any cabin in the woods when you are booking your retreat!
If there is a problem with the cabin please feel free to call us so that we can address the situation while you are there! Complaining about something after you have departed is bad form and somewhat suspicious!

Very clean and lovely setting. Had a little trouble finding the cabin since our GPS initially tried to take us to it a different way and then we lost the signal. Since the house is down an embankment and there's nothing to identify the house/driveway from the road it's a little tricky. Our cat loved the screened porch-- great spot to watch for wildlife. There are about 30 wide stone stairs leading down to the cabin so for anyone with difficulty with stairs it wouldn't be a good choice. Enjoyed our stay!

We had a pleasant stay here for a couple of days. You need to get along without wi-fi and service, we enjoyed the quiet. The only concern is the 30 some steps to get to the cabin. If you have a lot to carry and are not sure footed, just know. Due to the steps, we can't come back, however, we would otherwise, the owners are wonderful and so nice.

Mesmerizingly beautiful spot

I was overly stressed and this was a perfect place to hide from the world and not worry about a thing. I spent hours each day just staring at the stream flow by and occasionally reading some books I had been meaning to get to. Saw non threatening wild life, deer, wild turkey, great blue heron or a look alike and some ducks. That was an extra treat! Oh and the bed was super comfortable!!! This was a wonderful surprise as this is not always the case with rentals I would definitely go back.

Total isolation in a tidy little cabin. We missed the driveway the first time but it was a wonderful stay! Pup enjoyed the woods and water that was right by the fire pit

Lovely Hidden Spot

This was our second time at this cabin and we had just as wonderful a time as we did many years ago. The cabin is hidden away, you forget about the world with the sounds of the creek below. Kitchen had what we needed, cabin was clean, listing was accurate of what you'll need to bring along. Perfect spot for a relaxing, quite getaway in nature. Thank you for lending us your little slice of heaven!

Beautiful, quiet and relaxing vacation

Gorgeous location. We loved the cozy cabin, the gorgeous stream behind the cabin and the quiet hemlock woods surrounding the cabin. Great views out the windows and from the deck. The cabin was very clean, warm, comfortable, well provisioned, private and quiet. The cabin is located between Dushore which has 2 grocery stores to choose from and Worlds End State Park. It doesn't take long to get to either place. We would like the rent the cabin again some time. It's a great place to relax and enjoy nature.

This was such a cozy and relaxing stay. The cabin was clean and had everything we needed to have a simple little Thanksgiving with my husband and our two dogs. The view is gorgeous and it's so easy to get to many parks for hiking. Would definitely stay there again.

Loved everything! Appearance upon arrival, cleanliness, not one complaint!

I always say I leave a property cleaner than I found it, that was impossible with this property! It was so clean and appealing! We loved our stay! I was hoping to see a bear but not this trip! There really is a lot to do in the area if the weather is nice which it was for us. We were so tired every night we didn’t even get to use the fire pit. Also it was great to just stay in for meals other than lunch one day at Jolly Trolley. We will be back but hoping when the water in the creek is warmer, it was so cold!

Little Cedar

We had a great time, our dog, Sparkie loved it too. I've been coming up to Sullivan County for around 50 yearsand always stayed at campsites. So this year we decided to look into cabin rentals and found Little Cedar. We were really impressed with the cabin and all the amenities. We really didn't have to bring much, they provided most of the necessities. We will definitely stay here again. Jim, Holly and Sparkie
