"We have been coming to the Excellence Punta Cana about 1 time a year since about 2009. The resort has always been clean and well maintained (the pool could use to be re tiled). This year there were a few changes that we noticed with mixed reviews. All of the menu's have been changed and some our favorites were removed but the new items were very good replacements. examples, at Oreganos the Lasagna is only offered for lunch, at OLAS they were not making Pizza for lunch. lunch food delivery is still available around the pool by asking any of the servers. Speaking of the pool one thing that I always loved about the resort was the shade umbrellas around the pool, they were large and low so as to provide plenty of shade and they have been replaced with smaller higher synthetic palm looking covers that get hot underneath. As usual the staff are all very pleasant and it appears that they all enjoy being there (this is not always the case at other resorts around the Caribbean). A special shout out to "Misael" who stopped by every morning to just be friendly and give us the scoop on the days activities. He has a great outgoing personality and is very good at getting people to join in. I will say he was the life of the activity. My Wife had a great time at the pottery making activity and other crafts that were offered. I enjoyed the COCO LOCO, Mamajuana and chocolate tasting. The Gym is very nice and so are the courts (paddle ball courts, tennis courts)"
