Excellent all-around experience.

Great location (walkable to tons of bars/restaurants and shopping) and a short ride to other attractions (Capitol Building, Molly Brown House etc). Great classic decor and very well maintained. Comfortable, quiet rooms and nice bathrooms. Staff was great - especially the doormen (the shuttle service was a very convenient amenity and worth the extra daily charge). The Cruise Room (their bar/lounge) is a cool experience too. This place would be our first choice should we return to Denver.

Oxford Hotel, Denver

Pros: The Oxford hotel is in a perfect location for all DoLo sports and entertainment activities
Cons: The condition and cleanliness of the rooms needs an immense improvement ASAP.
Location: DoLo has so many entertainment venues within walking distance-professional sports teams, music, museums, many great restaurants and pubs.
The Oxford hotel is in a perfect location for all DoLo sports and entertainment activities. The hotel staff was very accommodating. The bourbon tasting each night was enjoyable. The condition and cleanliness was a huge disappointment. The drapes had a thick layer of dust and cobwebs at the top. There were previous guests' water bottles and trash underneath the beds. The main floor restaurant is being rehabbed so there was an 8 am pounding, hammering wake-up call each morning. Another inconvenience was no ice or drink vending machines. The staff gladly provided ice when it was requested, however.

Truly wonderful stay!

The hotel is historic and just beautiful. Wonderful location! Heart of it all. We took the A train from the airport to union station. From union station it's less than a block walk away. So easy to explore the city as they offer a town car for drives less than 2 miles. This was a "treat" for my husband and I since we could stay with friends in Denver. If I could, we would stay here every time we come.

The best place to stay in the entire Colorado!

I have been to Colorado before and wasn't too excited to come back for another conference. However, I booked at the Oxford and it was the best decision I made!!!! My husband and I loved every moment. The front desk? The best. The doormen? The most polite. The room service? Gained 10 pounds!! They even have a beautiful canary in a cage name Sherman. If I came back to Colorado, trust and believe that I will be at the Oxford. The hotel is like walking back into the 1930s. It is in a great location. They have a car that will drop you anywhere in a two mile radius for free. Trust me..... You will not be disappointed!

Great Hotel

Pros: The Stafff! The bed was so comfortable!
Cons: Raise the TV! Room darkening drapes.
Location: We went to the Rockies game so we were able to walk there. Restaurants were close and very good.

Great hotel but expensive parking!

Pros: The best part of the hotel is the staff.
Cons: The parking cost per night is a sticker shock. This should have been included in the quoted price.
Location: Larimer Square, Train Station, 16th Street, Modern Art Museum.
This hotel is right next to the train station and is within walking distance of Laminer square. The staff is very friendly and accommodating.

The location is amazing!!

We didn't even need to rent a car, there's so much going on within a few blocks. The hotel was nicely renovated. I actually loved the bathroom! I usually go for the modern hotels but I was glad I tried this place. The staff was amazing!! We will totally be back...maybe try to snag room 320 and see if it really is haunted :)

Heaven on Earth

A graduate of CU, I have been familiar with The Oxford Hotel and its historic Cruise Room for twenty years. Having moved to South Florida some time ago, but with friends in Boulder and Ft. Collins, and occasional business to attend to in Denver, my wife and I have the great pleasure of returning to The Oxford with some frequency. In fact, we plan an August trip around a Rockies homestand and concert at Red Rocks annually. For us, there is no other place to stay. Its LoDo location offers a short walk to world-class dining from micro breweries to Brazilian steakhouses, as well as Coors Field and the 16th Street Mall. Inside The Oxford the crown moldings, authentic furniture and historic appeal are unsurpassed. So is the staff. And so is the food and drink. The Cruise Room, the first bar in Colorado opened after the repeal of prohibition is an exact replica of the bar built on the Queen Mary in 1930-something. The martinis are to die for. McCormick's Restaurant, also on the property, offers some of the finest cuisine in Denver. The service is exceptional in both. But, The Oxford is not for everyone. If you are looking for the most modern, streamline and business friendly hotel on earth, this may not be it. But it it truly exceptional at what it does and will remain our favorite (and only) accommodation within Denver for years to come.
