How to get through airport security fast when traveling to Crete

Your adventure to Crete begins the minute you've finished all the security checks. We've put together a list of useful tips to make sure you get through quickly:

  • Security staff will expect to see your boarding pass and travel ID upon arrival. Store them in a convenient place, ready for inspection.
  • You'll need to put your tunes on pause for a little while. Earphones and headphones need to be taken off and put in a tray for X-raying. The same goes for items such as keys and coins.
  • Make sure your laptop and electronic devices are within easy reach. These items need to be put through the X-ray machine separately.
  • Hand cream, toothpaste and other toiletry items in liquid, gel or cream form need to be stored in containers no larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters). They also need to fit in a 1-quart (1-liter) clear resealable bag.
  • Airport security personnel may ask you to remove your shoes for the body scanner. Pick a pair that come off easily. There's nothing worse than having to do your laces up over and over again.
  • Pocketknives and corkscrews are prohibited inside the aircraft. Tuck them away in your checked luggage to avoid them being confiscated at the security checkpoint.
