"My wife and I stayed one night at Expedition Lodge for our anniversary and had a wonderful experience. The building has an older charm but is well maintained. Our room was clean and comfortable, and the bed was excellent — one of my top priorities when traveling. The mattress was firm yet soft, with no sagging or worn spots.
Breakfast was different from what I’m used to but pleasantly surprising. I usually expect bacon, eggs, and biscuits and gravy, but this lodge offered creative local options like “Build Your Own Estes Park Deviled Eggs” and “Elk Jerky Green Chili.” I wasn’t brave enough to try the deviled eggs (which I now regret), but the chili was fantastic! I’ve never had chili for breakfast, but I loved it, especially topped with a little shredded cheese.
The staff was friendly and accommodating. We arrived from Denver much earlier than planned after an early flight and reached the lodge around 11 a.m. I didn’t expect our room to be ready, but to my surprise, it was available, and they kindly allowed an early check-in — a lifesaver after being up since 1 a.m.!
Thank you, Expedition Lodge, for helping make our anniversary getaway so memorable!"
