Room smelled damp. Turned off A/C in hopes of decreasing smell. Put bags down & left to grab food nearby. Returned to room sat down to eat, decided to close the curtains since I was on ground level. Noticed there were spots of black mold on them. Decided to check other places for mold. Found some on both lamps in the room. Went to the front desk to inform of mold in room. Desk agent said she would contact me when a room became available. Not all rooms had been cleaned just yet due to number of guests. Mind you I checked in after 4pm. Went back to room for about 20 mins. Decided to take my bags back to car, needed to leave soon to get to a concert I drove from NC for. Didn't want to leave bags in room expecting a room change. I stopped by the front desk again for any room updates. Asked bc I saw that housekeepers I had seen on the way to the room were leaving for the evening. The front desk agent asked if the maintenance man had come to spray anything in the room to which I answered no. Told front desk agent I needed to leave soon to get to my concert. Was asked what time I would be back, informed her appx after 11pm. To which I asked would I have a room, agent said the same as before. It was already after 5pm at this point. I asked for a refund since there was no guarantee of a new room and the agent didn't seem concerned. Ended up having to change my clothes for the concert in the car and driving back to NC after the concert because other hotels were booked up and pricey.
