The Omni Grove Park Inn & Spa
"The historic hotel is located in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains, with long range views from the property. Our 7th floor corner room in the Sammons wing was spacious, had plenty of windows affording views overlooking the main building, golf course, downtown Asheville, and mountain range out toward Pisgah Mountain. Room amenities were to our liking- comfy bed and soft pillows, blackout drapes, quiet a/c, Keurig pod-type coffeemaker, robes, large screen tv, WiFi, and tv streaming. Be prepared to pay a mandatory resort fee of $45/day to cover those nice amenities! And another $35 to self-park your car. It’s a sprawling complex, so if you have mobility issues (like us), consider staying in the main building-it can be a really long walk from the Sammons wing to the main building. There were a few negatives. We found the dining choices to be rather limited and the bar prices to be outrageous. I think a resort stay would be best enjoyed for a corporate event or a wedding. For a couple, you might enjoy a day trip- lunching on the patio (make a reservation!), touring the historic upstairs floors with a guide (no charge), seeing the artifacts exhibit in the hallways of the Vanderbilt wing, and (if you have the stamina), seeing the antique car exhibit or taking the hike on the property."
