It would be best to put a notice / disclaimer about having a “cashless” system when making bookings. Luckily, I had a friend to assist with doing a debit card transaction for hotel fees, this was very disappointing and not accommodating

Visitors roaming in Trinidad who are looking for a place to stay in Arouca have a number of choices. Travelocity's easy-to-use booking portal at present contains 11 hotels only a short drive from Arouca.
There are only a few accommodation options within walking distance from downtown Arouca. The Palms Hotel Trinidad is a wise option because it is just 2 miles (3 kilometers) away.
The Hyatt Regency Trinidad is 13 miles (21 kilometers) outside the town center of Arouca. An alternative place to stay is the Courtyard by Marriott Port Of Spain, which can be found 15 miles (23 kilometers) away. Some other places to rest your head are the Hilton Trinidad & Conference and the Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Trincity Trinidad Airport.
Port of Spain is 11 miles (18 kilometers) west of Arouca and boasts University of the West Indies and Movietowne. Some Travelocity-listed Port of Spain hotels and apartments include the Kapok Hotel and Radisson Hotel Trinidad.
