Along with Swedish and Danish, Norwegian forms a dialect continuum of more or less mutually intelligible local and regional varieties, and some Norwegian and Swedish dialects, in particular, are very close. These Scandinavian languages📖, together with Faroese and Icelandic as well as some extinct languages📕, constitute the North Germanic languages🔖. The Norwegian language consists in two distinct and rival norms↔️: Bokmål or Riksmål, also called Dano-Norwegian and Nynorsk or New Norwegian. ➡️During the 15th century, the old Norwegian writing traditions✍🏻 gradually died out after the union of Norway🇳🇴 with Denmark🇩🇰 and the removal of the central government to Copenhagen. In 1814 Norway achieved the independence but the linguistic union🔄 with Danish persisted. This was my first time inside a church in Oslo. No explanations needed for the interior beauty of this place. It was a totally unexpected way I went there. I just asked a stranger to click a picture of mine in front of this church and he clicked it for me. Then he invited to have a look inside and I'm glad that I met him to explain me the whole process there.
