We were traveling during a snow storm - visibility was terrible within minutes. Had to turn around and stay the night in Alamosa. The hotel was clean & staff was wonderful. "My wife and I have stayed here twice while visiting Monte Vista for the annual Crane Festival. Both times, the staff were friendly and helpful, and the room and bathroom were spotless. The bed was very comfortable, so we slept well. Since this hotel has a drive-in movie screen south of the rooms, after sundown visitors can watch a movie from the luxury of their hotel room if they desire. Also, each room has both a room number and an actor's name associated with it. So, for example, we stayed in the "Yul Brynner" room. These touches give the hotel character that you won't find anywhere else. The dining room, where breakfast is served, has a gorgeous view that looks out onto the mountains west of Monte Vista. As the Spanish name of the town indicates, the hotel truly has a "mountain view." I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone."
