Transportation from MLI
Davenport flights take travelers to Quad City International Airport in Moline, Illinois, about 15 minutes outside Davenport. Hotels in Davenport are easily accessible from the airport; you'll find taxicabs and shuttle buses are also plentiful, although you should make a reservation to secure a spot, particularly if you land in the evening. There are many rental car companies in the public terminal near baggage claim. After you rent a car, take a short drive up Interstate 74 and over the Mississippi River into Davenport. Having a rental car for your vacation offers the most flexibility, but public transportation works as well. From the airport, you can take a METRO public transit bus, which stops in front of the terminal twice an hour Monday through Saturday up until about 6:10 p.m. The buses do not run on Sundays and major holidays. Once you are at your hotel, say sayonara to your bags for a while, and hit one of the many music festivals going on in the city. Don't forget to ride the bike paths, and check out the prime view of Davenport from the pedestrian skybridge downtown.
