LOCATION! LOCATION! Just 300yds from West Beach, a block off State St. and easy walking to downtown, our historic triplex offers an ideal location and great accommodations for discerning visitors. The rooftop garden/patio adds another entire experience to your stay!

This 1000`, spacious 1-BR/1-BA (sleeps 4) apartment has a double-door entry from the front street patio, 2 fireplaces, renovated kitchen and bathroom. Awesome bed, HD-TV , hi-speed internet, 400+ DVD library.

Having lived in this wonderful 110+ y.o. main house ourselves for many years, and since adding improvements in 2014, we can assure that the accommodations will certainly please.

Of particular note is the ARTWORK on the walls, and the unique interior detailing. Gas fireplaces in both LR and BR.

Guests have a sitting veranda out front, and are welcome to enjoy the Chapala Gardens aeroponic vertical garden and rooftop patio.

Guests in Unit-1 have private access to their apartment and front patio, plus the Chapala Gardens Rooftop Patio, as well as the Laundry Room.

Access is easy. We live 5 minutes away in downtown SB, and are available for any issues or needs. TEXT anytime.

West Beach is a very special enclave in downtown SB !
Only about 4 blks square and primarily the land occupied by the once grand Potter Hotel a century ago, it is quiet at night and so charmingly situated.
The Wharf and beach path are but 2 blocks away.
SB`s main State St. and The Funk Zone are also similarly close.

Everything in downtown and the beach is walkable. A 50-cent trolley runs up Stet and along the beach. Uber caters to any longer need. SB Airport is SO easy to navigate! and just 15 min from downtown. The SB Airbus connects us to LAX too.

Secure, private exterior closed porch for storage of surfboards or bikes.

Creekside shared Laundry Room; door is locked and all guests have key.

Chapala Rooftop Gardens Patio is available for your day use. NOTE: Guests are expected to leave the patio as found, including placing chairs around tables, washing any used dishes, cleaning the BBQ grill and removing trash.

We had a wonderful visit to Santa Barbara and loved staying in Unit 1 of the Chapala Gardens! Every day we enjoyed coffee on the front porch and a glass of wine in the evening on the beautiful rooftop garden. The hosts were incredibly welcoming and helpful. Great Location

Beautiful house in convenient location. We didn’t need to use our car as everything is walkable. Parking is a bit of an issue as there is no private parking and there are restrictions for on-street parking at weekends and Wednesday mornings. The house is well equipped with everything you could need.

Wonderful stay at Chapala Gardens

Great location, Great host. Great time. Stayed for 3 weeks, we returned our rental car after a couple days and walked or biked for 2 weeks. One block from the train station, one block to beach, three blocks to center of town. Wonderful restaurants and bars within easy walking distances. We had a great time exploring Santa Barbara.

The Rooftop Garden ROCKS

We loved our stay at Chapala Gardens. The location is perfect…close walk to the beach or State street. The accommodations were clean and as advertised. The rooftop garden stole the show. Excellent location and units in Santa Barbara! Sandy (host) was very communicative and helpful! We had a family dinner on the rooftop patio (our family had rented all three units) and Sandy offered tables, chairs, and other help to make it a great experience. The unit is very close to the beach and close to town center where some amazing restaurants and shops are.

Comfortable and convenient

We enjoyed our stay at Chapala Gardens. The weekend was unseasonably rainy and cold, so plans for biking and hiking shifted to local theater and use of the rain gear we smartly brought!. Gave us a good excuse to hunker down and enjoy the two fireplaces and covered porch. The location (and rental car) afforded us to either walk or to drive to our targeted activities. Quality and comfort - - - all the comforts of "home away from home". Our parade was definitely not rained on, just rerouted!

location was fantastic! close to water, Funk Zone and State Street. While we had a car... didn't need it or use it except for day trips. Beach chairs and towels very useful.
