Not very good location, and there are no staff on site to maintain the property. The lobby is under construction.

This was a good location for Little Italy. Parking as initially mentioned when booking, was challenging, but not unexpected. The room was clean. I did not have an issue with keypad access. The roadway traffic noise was not an issue and I did not hear air traffic when I was sleeping. Easy in and out for a one night stay.

Check in was a bit difficult because they had us fill in a registration but when we got to the front door had no information. There are about 4 codes you need for the front gate, front door, outside foor and room door... too much to remember!

Good hotel. Needs life

I love these hundred year old hotels. The Zindel is located directly across from the freeway on-ramp yet they did an excellent job remodeling to make this a non-issue. If you can't stand noise, do not stay in Little Italy. The room was excellent and the "lobby" was clean and modern. My only complaint is the contactless check-in. It creates a very sterile first impression. I like people and want to talk to them. Maybe they could hire a retired couple in the neighborhood to greet guests?

I loved the check in process. Door codes given instead of speaking to front desk. One of the codes did not work, easily remedied by a quick phone call. I was worried about the shared bathroom situation. Our room did have its own bathroom. No curtains in bathroom. We did park at a parking lot about a block away. Only inconvenient due to maximum time is 10 hours. I did screenshot the code so we did not have to walk back at 3 am just to pay again. All in all I would definitely recommend and stay again. Very close to dining and the water. Perfect little getaway for us.

The code to get in our room didn’t work! Thank goodness a nice man just happened to be getting towels for the people next door. He had a key and let us in. He was able to fix it and we got a new code! The sink in our bathroom was very tiny and there was no place to plug anything in, like a curling iron. It was very helpful that the man also told us about the basement where we could get ice. The basement area added an nice extra touch with actual glasses, bottled water and snacks!
