Check out Shikoku's castles and traditional villages and don't forget to admire its rural landscapes, coastal plains and mountains. In this fascinating part of Japan adventurous visitors may also try their hand at mountain climbing and hiking.
Looking for more things to do? Spend a few hours exploring Matsuyama Castle and Across Shigenobu, which can be found in Matsuyama, 18 miles (29 kilometers) west of Saijo. Whether you're just passing through or staying in Kotohira, keep a day to explore the Kotohira-gu and Konpira Grand Theatre.
Before you and your family leave Shikoku, why not make sure you watch a fast-paced game. Get to Hiroshima Municipal Stadium, which you can find northwest of Saijo. Wise travelers who like the thought of staying not far away, reserve a room in the Sheraton Grand Hiroshima Hotel or Crowne Plaza ANA Hiroshima.

Imabari Kokusai Hotel
"We had just finished a two day 75 km bike ride and we’re ready to relax. Fortunately, this was the most luxurious hotel we had booked on our entire trip and when we arrived, we were not disappointed. The hotel screams old world charm with its ornate lobby and elaborate boutiques. The room was beautiful without standing views of the city and bridges and our dinner on the 23rd floor, Teppanyaki restaurant with a private chef was unparalleled on the entire trip. This is a bit of an indulgence by Japan standards, but certainly worth it!"
