Hastings on Hickory is a 4,300-square-foot, custom-built lake home located in a cove with deep water and amazing panoramic views of the main channel and of the mountains.

The gourmet kitchen with granite countertops plus seating at the dining table and the kitchen island is located on the main level. The laundry room, the living room, the sunroom, a half bath, and a primary suite are also on the main level.

Located on the lower level is a full bar with French doors leading out to two stone verandas and a gorgeous outdoor stone fireplace. A primary suite with a sitting area, a guest bedroom, and a half bath are also on the lower level.

The upper level offers two guest bedrooms that share a bath. There is a Wii, books, board games, and movies for easy entertainment. The large deck facing the lake can be accessed from the main level of this home. You’ll also love the outdoor shower, full-size dock with floater, and boat slip!

The indoor fireplace is not for guest use. However, guests may use the outdoor fireplace.

Great Vacation

We were very happy with this rental property. The house was beautiful and the rooms were perfect for our big family. The kitchen layout was awesome and fully stocked. The sofas were beat but we didn’t sit much. We loved the lake. The dock is old but did the job for our multiple boats. Overall we had an amazing time.

Nicely appointed. Huge open kitchen that is well stocked. All bedrooms had great beds. Four and a half bathrooms were amazing. This house is big enough that you can escape to different rooms if you need peace and quiet. This is a lovely property!

Beautiful House, Good Location

3rd time at this property. Checkin is easy. House is really nice and location on the lake is good. Everything is functional. You can tell It has been on rental for a while and some things aren’t far from end of useful life. I’m sure the owners will probably recognize and improve with all the $$$ they’ve pulled in.

Great property for a family get away but I needed to clean 2nd day as I got tired of looking at dead insects on window sills on inside and cobwebs everywhere. They need to upgrade cleaners and not use excuse they find it difficult to find help. I was not please with the docking facilities for my boat but the house and outdoor space was great.

Great home and location

This was a great home with lots of space for our group to spread out. Bedrooms and living spaces are spacious. Views of lake are gorgeous. We rented a boat and there was no problem with docking. Would definitely stay here again.

Beautiful Home in a Great Location.

This was the perfect home for our family of 8. There was plenty of room for us all to spread out. The kids loved hanging out in the basement and on the back patio. The stone fireplace on the back patio made for memorable fireside game nights. We brought our own wood and highly recommend it as it keeps the bugs away and really made our evenings wonderful. The house is quite large and comfortably fit our group with room to spare. The large eat in kitchen was beautiful and was stocked with every tool needed. The views from the kitchen are so lovely. My only complaint here is that the owners keep the pantry locked so there is no place to store food. Having brought a weeks' worth of food with us (trying to avoid eating out during covid), we had to store it all on the counters and in boxes in the corner on the floor. That worked fine until we spied little red ants . . . . not ideal! The location is great - the house is towards the end of a quiet cul-de-sac. We walked 3 miles every morning down Hickory Cove Rd - there was traffic but it was manageable. Food Lion is about 15 minutes away as are a few restaurants. The house is situated just off the main channel in a cove that is great for tubing and skiing. My kids enjoyed jumping off the dock - the water is nice and deep. The ladder on the dock, however, is starting to come off and will need to be fixed before someone gets hurt. The house was clean but there is a lot of cobwebs. There are also lots of knickknacks on tables that have accumulated layers of dust. It is clear that the owners need to give it a little more "love" as it needs a thorough interior cleaning and power wash outside. The views are so lovely from all the big windows the house has, however, there are too many large spider webs that obscure the views. A good power wash would take care of that. Also, there are sand bags and mulch bags just laying around the property. It would take 5 minutes for them to clean that up and it would look so much nicer! We would definitely rent this house again. The minor cleaning issues would not keep us away. Tammy and crew at the rental company RSI were awesome. They communicated with us right from the start and were better than any other rental agency we've dealt with.

Coming back to the Lake!

This home was well appointed, clean and open. The view is beautiful and the water was perfect. There was no internet and the 2 TV’s would only play the same program (maybe a good thing) other then that we loved it!

Fantastic house in great location

We stayed for a week in this gorgeous house. It had plenty of room for 8 adults, giving us a place to have fun and room to get away for quiet time, if wanted. There were a few minor issues one can expect when using a house rental..a broken knob on the stove, a broken shelf in the fridge and no internet (which was an unexpected blessing). Those little things did nothing to hamper the vacation. We will definitely be back!

Family came in from across the country. House was clean, parking was plentiful, easy parking to back in the boat. Ramp was only 10 minutes away. Deep water along dock. The only drawback is Gor an older guest may not be able to walk to the dock as the grade is steep.. That is just terrain the path is sloped to minimize but it is something to be aware of.

We were so impressed with the floor plan and details of the house. Very well thought out which made our stay feel like we already knew the house & able to feel comfortable right away. The kitchen was very well stocked- our family loves to cook & this kitchen made it easy for multiple “chefs” in action- between the massive island, amazing gas stove, extra oven/fridge/sink, it was a dream for us. Waking up to the sunrise over the lake was one of the best parts of the day. So many options to find a quiet place in (or outside) the house to sit and enjoy the view. Would love to visit again and highly recommend!

This is overall a great house. The location is ideal. Slight housekeeping improvements needed.

The house, the location and the layout are great. We used the rental company’s linen service and payed the extra money to have them make the beds. They did not make all of the bunk beds for the kids. Cleanliness was not superb but it was adequate. There were visible dust chunks and cobwebs throughout the house. I think the cleaning team needs more time in between checkouts. Overall, I would stay here again. The house accommodated our three families easily and our kids loved the dock.
