The hotel staff were terrific. They made our stay very enjoyable. Very helpful directing us to non- tourist trap dinner options. Rome was clean and pleasant. The hotel is in a small footprint in a busy area but the rooms felt spacious and the hotel felt very quaint. If there was one issue it was the elevator was small and tight for two people with smallish sized suitcases. But that’s a very minor issue and easily worked around. Definitely recommend this hotel if you plan to stay and walk the city. The hotel is close to the metro which is very clean and safe.

We picked the Poet as it’s one of the few hotels in downtown Lisbon with an elevator. What we didn’t realize was it sits on a 20 block long street that’s been turned into a pedestrian only street. It’s paved with the standard Lisbon granite cubes that have been glazed in black and white. The street has a continuous row of street restaurants the whole length of the street with high and low end shops on both sides. It ends at the Arco de Rua Augusta on the river. The hotel itself is very modest in appearance from the outside with only a brass door marking its location. Inside the lobby is modest in size but nicely appointed, including the elevator. Our room was on the top floor with a dormer and very small balcony, you could step out on, overlooking the street festivities. The street is busy with people till 2 am but the window/door is pretty much soundproof. Everything in the room was modern and clean. The shower was a little tight for my 6’3” body although it’s 5’ wide it only about 2’ deep but it was all tile and everything worked. The hotel sits right next to a restaurant and has an interior door to access it for their breakfast buffet. There is also a bakery on the other side of the hotel. The next time we are in Lisbon we will be staying at the Poet again.

The bed was terrible. We could feel the springs and had horrible 3 nights of sleep. We ordered transportation on the first day to airport The morning we were leaving they did not show up We ended up having to walk to the end of the street to take a taxi. The gentleman at the front desk was okay but it was like oh well. I gave him 50 euros and the original transportation was 30 euros he gave me back 10 i said no you owe me 20. Then when the driver did not come i asked for my 30 euros back and he tried to give me 10 telling me he was not the smart but he knew his math—i ended up just asking me for my 50 euros back and gave him back 20. My husband must have asked 5 times if transportation was arranged and they said yes and in the end no one came. Location is good. Quiet. Little dated and definitely need to get new mattresses

The location is perfect with nearby access to the waterfront. Rooms are small but functional. Room service was daily and the staff friendly. Note that the hotel is located on a walk only road so you can’t be dropped off at the door.

The room was comfortable and staff in front desk were ok. The breakfast service had a very limited menu options and the price was steep for toast, orange juice and coffee. Thre is no place to sit in the lobby and get any other coffee/tea other than the PORTO red wine. There was no additional soap bars, lotion, sewing kit and water, they provided one bottle the first day and the coffee pods that get replaced every 3 days and that needs to be improved for customers for hotels that are in central and rate themselves high to be competive with other hotels in same price range.

We stayed here for a couple of nights and had a bit of a mixed experience. The room itself was super clean and surprisingly spacious—even though we booked last minute and got the smallest room. Most of the staff were really friendly and helpful, which we appreciated. That said, there were a couple of things that took away from the overall experience. On our second night, we came back late from one of the sardine festivals and found that there was no hot water—just freezing cold. I called the front desk, and they told me to just let it run. Well, we let it run for nearly 90 minutes, and still no hot water. We both had to take cold showers that night and again the next morning. Also, the next day around 10 a.m., a housekeeper walked into our room even though we had a "Do Not Disturb" sign on the door. Turns out, someone had flipped the sign to "Please Clean Room" at some point, which was weird and honestly a little unsettling. All in all, great room and staff, but the hot water issue and surprise visit from housekeeping made it a less-than-ideal stay.

I stayed at the Be Poet Hotel for a few days while visiting Lisbon. The hotel is very well located — I was able to walk to most of the major districts and attractions, including historical sites, restaurants, and bars. The location made exploring the city very convenient. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and helpful throughout my stay. The hotel has an on-site restaurant/café, and the breakfast was decent — not remarkable, but a good way to start the day. The room and bathroom were clean, though both were quite small — something to expect in many European city hotels. The bed was okay, and I slept fine. My room faced the street, but I didn’t experience much noise, which was a pleasant surprise. The only sound I occasionally noticed was from the elevator, but most guests seemed to use the stairs, so it wasn’t an issue. Overall, the noise level was totally manageable. If I had to note one downside, it’s that the hotel felt a bit pricey for what it offered — but considering the central location, you're likely paying for convenience more than luxury. Overall, I had a positive experience. The hotel is clean, well-located, and staffed by kind and helpful people — a solid choice for exploring Lisbon on foot.
