The cabin is a fun mix of rustic charm and modern convenience, making a lovely spot for a holiday runaway.
The bedrooms are fairly spare, but the beds are super comfortable (king in MBR was awesome). Decor feels casually-high end, and there is evidence of recent upgrades everywhere.
The kitchen is really well stocked, with new appliances (Keurig, regular mini-pot, gas grill, even a Kitchen Aid mixer) and a great variety of utensils, dishes, pots/pans, etc. We also appreciated the large selection of spices on hand.
The fireplace was a cornerstone of our stay, as it was bitter and icy while we were there. It is not converted to gas, but there was a ton of firewood and starter logs provided. The hosts clearly care about their guests' experience, as evidenced by little touches like fairy lights throughout the yard, color-changing electric candles in different rooms, and linens were provided at no extra cost.
The home is on a BEAUTIFUL lot with only a few neighbors (not super close). We did find it very difficult to maneuver the hill on which the house is located, so make sure to have only 4WD or AWD vehicles if ice/snow is expected. The owners were INCREDIBLY responsive and helpful with all of our questions. Again, that they care very much about their guests is obvious.
Finally, the Apple House and Melting Pot Pizza were the only places we went for any other food besides home-cooked, and both were great.
You won't be dissatisfied with this cabin if you're looking for a mountain getaway!
