This was an older hotel, but the price difference was well worth it. The hotel was very clean and the beds were comfortable. The staff was awesome. Would stay there again.

This is the first time I have left a motel review… being as when you get a cheap motel, you know going in you’re not at a 5 star hotel. However, please do not stay here. I just wanted a hot shower and reasonably comfortable bed when coming back from a full day of exploring, hiking, driving, etc. 1. The ice machine did not work. No way to have cold drinks at night or in the morning. 2. Shower head was literally at the level of my nose. I’m 5’8”. Tall, but not overly. You either have to bend way over at the waist or try to bend backward which is impossible given how low the shower head is. 3. The first night, not enough hot water for 2 showers. The 2nd, my daughter didn’t even attempt a shower. She’s 5’10” and knew there wasn’t going to be enough hot water nor could she fit under the shower head anyway. 4. The beds. Holy cow, literally like sleeping on a wooden slab. I have a firm mattress at home so I’m used to sleeping on a harder bed. But this was insanely painful. My daughter is only 25 and even she has continued to have aches and pains 5 days after sleeping on the bed. We’ve spent the last 13 years sleeping in various hotels, motels, airbnbs while doing travel ball for our daughters. This was by far the worst place we’ve ever stayed. As far as staying in Keystone, we picked it for a central location. But the tiny strip of town is dead by 9:30ish and it’s honestly unnerving, bordering on creepy. Not the best place to stay for 2 females.

TV was bad. Everything else was good, will return. Hope they have a better TV next tims. Fire Tv wouldnt connect to wifi, horrible inerface, and only 12 random channels. Also, no room service just new towels. We stayed for 3 nights and paid daily regular rate but no room service.

Maybe skip this one.

I had high hopes when I arrived at the hotel. The front desk employee was great. Really nice gentleman and offered a lot of information. But then we got into the room. We had checked in late in the evening and when we walked into the room it felt like a sauna. Incredibly hot and the A/C did not work very good at all. Also the bathroom had lots of black stains high up on the walls and also in the main part of the room which was showing through the wall paper. I am surprised over the winter that they did not try to treat the black spots (which I assume was black mold) over the winter. I think it could be a nice place with some work but honestly I wouldn’t go back.

The staff was very friendly. The room was so spacious with cute log furnishings from the bed to the rocker and table and chairs. It was quiet even though it is located on the end of the main hub of tourist shops. I’d give it a 5 star rating if it had an elevator. We carried luggage up to the 3rd floor.

No elevators & we were on the 3rd floor caused some inconvenience for my elderly mother. Room had an old musky smell also I think this place had mold because after sometime we noticed moisture in the air but we could be wrong. I would give this place a 3 out of 10.

Great location for visiting Mr. Rushmore and walking around shopping or eating out. Beware, no elevators in this 3 story building. If you cannot climb stairs make sure you call to request a first floor room.

Location is very convenient with many options of restaurants and shop within walking distance. Mount Rushmore is about 15 minutes drive away, Room size is big, basic amenities but very clean. Free coffee and tea served in the front office
