My son and I visited Hawaii together for the first time & decided to stay away from the hustle and bustle of tourists…we tried this part of Oahu for 3 days and 2 nights. The hotel is located within a shopping mall area across from a gym and a food mart (w/yummy choices of ahi nachos, mochi, and all sorts of local delights), so the parking is shared. No difficulty parking, but as there is no valet or service to help with bags, and I was obviously injured, my son had to handle all of our heavy luggage himself checking in and out.
We enjoyed the comforts of the room, the tiny fridge, microwave, and sink came in handy. Changing linens and towels or clean rooms is every other day, so we cannot tell if they would have done a good job with that. We found the rooms to be clean and comfortable for just the two of us. A bit small for a family of more than 3. The pullout bed had no instruction manual but we figured it out for ourselves. One odd thing about our room was that the curtains could not be closed in the middle to block out sun. It was noisy at night with music and patrons from a rest/bar next door as well as trucks or cars speed driving past or running their boom music loudly. So, we woke up a couple of times after 12.
The receptionists seemed kind but we overheard 2 of them make negative remarks about a guest & 1 was short w/ us when we made an inquiry. Maybe they’re having bad days?
Complimentary coffee/tea and the overall comfortable stay was good, so mahalo.
