"Not my best stay and never screamed the VIP access benefits i get under Expedia gold/hotels .Com gold member. The staff never cleaned my room having requested twice. The inroom dining service and amenities are god slow and awful . Staff doesnt pick up the remaining utensils and never really responds to calls . Multiple reminders , in person requests are needed. A very unpleasant stay for the beautiful beach property they have. Could and should have gotten am upgrade I was eligible for cause the hotel was less than half empty yet they have an excuse of it being full and overbooked well clearly it wasn't cause the room was showing online on various platforms. So very disappointed. Giving them 2 stars out of 5 only for the beach overview and the spa. Everything else a colossal disappointment."

"Nice property but service was lacking. The staff were a bit overwhelmed by the number of guests. At one restaurant they had one staff member working during peak lunch time. This translated to long waits for food and delivery of cold food. Breakfast was a zoo."

As a Gold status member, I was pleasantly surprised to receive the highest room upgrade available, and the entire team went above and beyond to make my stay special. A special mention to the Front Desk Manager and the Property Head—two of the kindest and most gracious hospitality professionals I have had the pleasure of meeting. Their personal attention and genuine care made all the difference. The property itself is beautiful, with a charming boutique feel, lovely spaces to relax, and excellent food throughout the stay. Every detail reflected thoughtful hospitality and a commitment to guest satisfaction. An absolutely wonderful experience from start to finish. "I had a really lovely stay at Ocean Bliss by Sugar Co-living in Weligama. "Beautiful location surrounded by stunning nature, with amazing rooms and a breakfast of a very high standard. However, the grounds and overall maintenance do not reflect the level expected from a Relais & Châteaux or Michelin Key property. There were dry leaves and weeds throughout the territory, and several trees appeared infested or dying. For such a large estate, there should clearly be more gardeners and stronger attention to maintenance and cleanliness. The lunch and dinner offerings were also disappointing considering the prices charged. At this level, the quality should match the cost. In particular, dishes prepared with raw tuna were served with the fish appearing brown rather than bright red or pink. As a cook myself, I know this indicates oxidation and a lack of freshness. I was also surprised that the concierge sent me an unsolicited bill via WhatsApp the night before checkout while I was still relaxing and my departure was only the following morning. At high-end properties, the guest experience is usually handled in a far more seamless and discreet manner. I have stayed at several Relais & Châteaux hotels before, and unfortunately this was among the weakest experiences in terms of service and guest handling. I would recommend taking inspiration from the Constance hotel group, particularly Prince Maurice, which understands luxury hospitality and guest relations at a much higher standard."
