The amenities at Coastline Mirissa are amazing, our room was spacious, clean and had everything you could want for your stay. Both pool areas are a lovely place to relax, we also loved the badminton court and pool table! The reception staff were lovely and we really appreciated the provision of beach towels and filtered water in the room. Our stay was unfortunately tainted by the lack of vegan options for my partner at breakfast, despite the menu clearly stating these were available. Not only was the dish he was presented with really unappetising (an onion salad, half a tomato, some cucumber and a small pile of mushrooms) but the staff’s attitude towards catering for this dietary request was disappointing. They had no milk alternatives either. They made us rather uncomfortable and made it seem like it was a big challenge, when every other hotel or homestay we’ve been at have provided an amazing service for him. To note, the normal breakfast service wasn’t particularly inspiring either, we ended up eating out at a nearby brunch spot instead. It was also rather intrusive to be asked by the cleaning staff every time we left our room, if we were checking out or if we were leaving the next day - surely this information is kept at reception and guests shouldn’t have to provide it constantly? This might be a reflection of the short time the hotel has been open, but at this point I wouldn’t recommend staying there if you have any dietary requirements.
