"The Manor House is a beautiful place to stay. The people and service are kind, considerate, courteous and, very helpful The dinner is very expensive because they do not serve only a few of the items on the menu. If you order 2 items from the different classes on the menu They charge for the complete dinner. We were very tired when we arrived and only ordered 4 items from the complete dinner, 1 appetizer 2 bowls of soup and one sweet potato cost over 90 GBP. We were not informed how the pricing worked. The cost came as a bit of a shock because we explained we only wanted something lighter. They also never change the menu, That said, the restaurant was beautiful, the service was excellent and the food was of good quality. The breakfast menu is lovely and beautifully served and the food was excellent. The cost of a light dinner is a bit of a shock. Nothing a la carte in the main dining room. However the pub was totally a la carte, just down a long flight of stairs and a limited menu. The service there was lovely just a limited menu that also doesn't change. The Manor House is 15 minutes to the city center and if you take cabs it is about 15 GBP per trip, no credit cards only cash. The drivers are very friendly, the cabs are clean and dependable. We were very comfortable staying there and the people running the hotel were superb!"

"Sadly despite best efforts from a friendly staff we had a poor experience with our room. On the first day there was a constant motor noise which we were told came from the kitchen and would end when service was over. Our room safe would not reset so we had to be provided with the access key. The shower was unusable as the temperature varied from too hot to scalding and despite hanging a clean me sign on the door the room was not serviced. On the plus side the food was very good with over generous portion sizes which meant we did waste some food. We were surprised that when we ordered roast sirloin beef we were served with a grilled be it a very juicy and tasty steak but definitely not a sunday roast. Also on the plus side was a very friendly barman. We were aware of someone else complaining and the receptionist said she would take the matters up with her manager."
