The hotel was beautiful. Very weloming. Clean! The hostess was super kind. The rooms are small, but cozy. There are three sitting rooms and a kitchen on the first floor, which are also beautifully decorated and comfortable. I was in Detroit for work and it was like coming home at the end of the day. I have been raving about this hotel to everyone I know. Will definitely stay here again next time I am in Detroit!

Wonderful

We greatly enjoy this Inn. It would be nice to have window shades to keep out the parking lot lights. Pillows are rather large for our tastes. Missing a few toiletries. But the staff is great, continental breakfast is decent, coffee is delicious. The value in this Inn is the location to everything downtown. We always try to stay here when visiting Detroit.

There was no air conditioner and you cannot open the windows. We also could not connect to the WiFi but it was fine. That was my only problem everything else was amazing and beautiful. It’s so close to downtown but feels so quiet. Everything was very walkable and Denise was so sweet.

Absolutely wonderful! The staff was so friendly and personable as. We will be staying again. Perfect location if you are going to any game downtown, especially a Red Wings or Tigers game. Sound proofing isn’t great but nothing more than expected of a classic inn, and that’s on guests, not the property. We had the best time

Be careful the parking issues

Location is great for downtown however this parking thing needs to be dealt with. I was told we could park early before the Lions game. And then we were told that the hotel doesn’t own the parking lot. How is that possible ? And we couldn’t park there without paying the extortion pricing.

Overall an excellent experience and value. Denise, the property manager is attentive, kind and professional. The property is very well kept, though a window washing would make it sparkle. Great for an overnight stay for local events. You absolutely cannot beat the location!!!! Parking on site was my only complaint as it is advertised to have free street parking and we had to pay $28.99 to park in the lot as the city of Detroit has changed to free parking only between 8am -2pm, residential permit needed otherwise. Steps should have been taken to inform guests ahead of time. I received plenty of emails from the management through Hotels.com about the stay with the old parking info. Not a nice surprise. Otherwise our stay was great for what we needed! The Inn is a very cool building. The rooms are all decorated differently which is fun. It's older and it's clear that there are steps being taking to perform maintenance, update furnishings and such throughout without losing the vintage/antique vibe. The stairs are very old and creaky so I would definitely recommend sleeping with earplugs. The staff that we interacted with was friendly and helpful. We did not take advantage of the continental breakfast so no opinion of that. We would definitely stay here again if attending another event in the area.
