Our biggest issue with the property is that it’s listed as “private” but it isn’t private at all. So I’m not sure if that’s on VRBO or the owner. The rental is a basement that has been turned into a small apartment. The only thing separating the stairwell to the main floor are small garbage cans set in front of the stairs. During the course of our entire stay we could hear creaking floors, footsteps, flushing toilets, muffed voices, so well I could tell someone was doing the dishes. We found a few areas of the space that hadn’t been cleaned; a few dishes, the bathroom sink, and the rugs. The space was okay on the “pet-friendly” scale. If our dog wanted to he could have easily moved around the garbage cans that led upstairs so we had to keep him in one specific room behind closed doors. He was also agitated by the random noises from upstairs and people he could hear. There were lots of pet cleaning products around in case of any accidents.the yard would've been nice to have him run around and play in but it felt like we could’ve been watched by the people upstairs because the windows to the upstairs had the shades open.Overall the space was cute, practical for a couple with an animal if they are okay basically staying in someone’s basement while they remain upstairs.
