Make sure tub drain and sinks are draining properly before guest arrived We had an issue I. Rm 231 March 21-23 , it was taken care of after the fact., but for the price of that room we shouldn’t have to worry about things like that or try to fix it ourselves Overall we like the Ivys

Nightclub across from hotel ruins it!

This boutique hotel is nicely elevated BUT, be aware of the thumping, pulsating base music that literally gets in your soul every night from the nightclub directly across the street! There was another couple checking out that complained of the very same thing and white noise and ear plugs didn’t help! It’s a shame—this would be a 10/10 otherwise. Do not expect a good night’s sleep!

The fire alarm went off not once but twice at this property. There was clearly no issue and at 1:30 am it’s a problem especially when no explanation is given. First time ordering breakfast room service and the order was wrong. Beautiful room, good location, but no apology or communication.

Hotel with character

This was an older building with character (difficult to find in Charlotte) in the heart of Uptown. It was well-maintained with friendly staff. It was part hotel/part residences so the layout was a little strange. However the restaurant/bar once found, was lovely (we had breakfast there). The staff truly wanted to make our stay special.

It was a great place to stay. Staff was friendly and efficient. Easy to get car when needed. Great location downtown for theaters, restaurants and parks. One of the nicest hotels we have ever stayed in.
