Book a hotel near Washington National Cathedral, Northwest

"Staff was amazing. Any issues were handled immediately and they were very visible throughout the property to assist or provide info. I highly recommend staying at this hotel. It’s location is close to so many things."

"The staff were very friendly and helpful, but here was only one person at the reception desk, making for long waits. There was no bottled water. The rooms are overdue a makeover. Due to the open atrium, it’s very noisy. The revolving door was non functioning. Breakfast omelette were good! Very few amenities. The best thing about the hotel was its location near friendship heights. I do not think I’ll stay here again."

"Overly priced. Can't eat in dorm rooms. Coming in and out at desired times is not ideal. Seems like because you stay in a dorm room you had a curfew too. Front desk was not very accommodating. Security guy was nice. "

"The Dupont is a fancy hotel, far fancier than I'm used to but some things were wanting. The room itself was fine, well stocked mini bar and mini fridge available on request with ice was provided in the room. Little things seemed off to me - sockets next to the bed felt a little loose and the TV was off centre from the bed and pointed at the sole chair in the room, fine if travelling alone - less so if a couple, it was also unable to tilt towards the bed which seems where most people would watch TV from. But what do I know? The bathroom area was well stocked with toiletries and dressing gowns but the grouting of the shower floor was a bit manky. The view from the room (facing internally) was depressing, could at least try to tart up the AC intake a bit.. Staff were helpful and doormen were very friendly. My colleague had no issue with Valet and was very happy with their service. I used the hotel bar and restaurant once each. Breakfast service felt very slow despite ordering patries only and explaining we were on a tight schedule. Bar - good drinks variety, staff were quite good fun but our party of 8 could not be provided with individual checks - perhaps this is more of a quirk to the US than the Dupont itself. Surrounding area - great for diplomatic circle and Metro is very close for wider travel. Nice hotel - certainly, but it could be better."

"They had not "turned on central air for the season" yet as it was supposed to be cold the week after we were there. However, it was 80 degrees during our time there. The only way we knew this was by overhearing it being told to another guest in the lobby. Nothing was said to us upon check in. Apparently, their solution was a small fan they could provide, or we could open our windows. It was hot, and the open windows let in a ton of street noise at night. Someone outside was smoking, and that also came into our room. Poor solution. We won't stay again. "
