We’ve stayed at this property numerous times in the past and never had any issues — until this trip, which completely changed our opinion.
On our first night, we killed at least seven cockroaches in our room and suspected there were more. We immediately tried calling the front desk several times, but no one answered. Unfortunately, since we didn’t check in until nearly 11 PM after a six-hour drive, we were too exhausted to deal with it that night and stayed in the room.
The next morning, we contacted management and requested to be moved. While we were at work, they texted to say we’d been reassigned to another room and could pick up new keys later. When we returned, however, we discovered that the new room was not the one-bedroom suite we had originally booked. After another call to the front desk, they did move us again — this time to a one-bedroom king suite on the third floor, which thankfully didn’t have the same pest issue. We’re longtime IHG members, but this time the rate was better through Expedia. Unfortunately, it felt as though we were treated differently for booking through a third-party site. We were reminded that we wouldn’t earn IHG points since we didn’t book directly, and the experience overall made us feel like second-class guests. No refund for first night was ever offered.
This was disappointing, especially given our previous positive stays. We hope management addresses both the pest problem and the way guests who book through third parties are treated.
