Michelangelo Grand Hotel Prague
"We stayed at the hotel for a 3 nights and had two rooms, both of which were generally nice and comfortable. However, there were a few things that really let the hotel down. In room 219, the shower over the bath was positioned on the back wall rather than the side where you would normally expect it to be, above the taps. This meant that water naturally went onto the bathroom floor, made worse by the shower screen being too short. The heated towel radiator was also positioned directly above the taps and consequently got soaked every time the shower was used, which seemed a very strange design choice. Breakfast was another disappointment. There was no clear indication of what you were supposed to do when entering the dining room. Nobody greeted us and the waiting staff seemed to ignore us. In the end, we simply found a table and sat down before someone behind the bar eventually asked for our room number. It felt very disorganised. The food itself was actually very good, but unfortunately the atmosphere was spoiled by the waiting staff, who generally appeared quite miserable and were not particularly friendly or welcoming. I was also disappointed that nobody asked how our stay had been when we checked out. It would have been a simple opportunity to get feedback from guests. The reception waiting area also feels very dated and could do with some attention. The battered coffee table and rather dusty artificial plant in the middle don't give the best first impression."
