Surprisingly comfortable.

The room was bright and clean. Nice wet room bathroom with rain head shower. It was surprisingly roomy for a capsule room. Because it was bright there was no claustrophobia with the lack of windows. The common spaces were a nice touch for getting out of the small room.

Overall an 85/100. Staff are super nice and informative. Every person at the desk was knowledgeable, kind, and helpful. I give a ding on cleanliness as the pods are cleaned before you arrive, and after you leave. With the size of them I understand. If you have your stuff inside you’re going to have limited room to clean. Walls are a little thin. But for the price, service elsewhere, and all you have in the room it’s great. What’s my biggest downer is location. It’s next to the 5/25 line but it’s about 1.05km-1.30km from either nearest stations. And from there if you want to transfer to central that’s an extra train apart from the tram. I can’t tell you how many times I forgot something and had to walk all the way back to get it. Another downer is that there are not many food options available. Other than that, if you’re experienced using the transportation system in Amsterdam and don’t mind the extra steps this is a must book. Hostel vibe without the fear of someone rummaging through your stuff, or sleeping with someone watching you. Stayed for 10 days total would 100% stay here again.

The rooms were compact and clean and the system for check-in/out was excellent. There were vending machines in the lobby for both hot and cold drinks, and a breakfast area which was spacious, though the breakfast selection was limited The area surrounding the hotel is mainly office buildings with some areas in the process of regeneration, so was very quiet over the weekend. I would imagine there is a bit more noise during the week. The main tram station was within fairly easy walking distance and the trams ran regularly into the city.

Our stay at Diamond Capsule Hotel was great! Alex was especially helpful with our room and renting bikes one day. This was a great affordable alternative to other hotels and hostels. There wasn't much space but that wasn't really needed with us being out and about all day. About 45 min from the city center, the only problem was that our sheets were never changed, and we had to ask for clean towels. Overall we were very happy with our stay.

Don’t be put off by the overall look outside, it was clean comfortable and great for getting around on trams or buses Friendly and helpful staff. A bar and food a quick walk away, there was a film playing in the square when we were there I would definitely stay there again

The hotel is okay, but some of the facilities are poorly designed. The shower we had bad drainage, and water kept on pooling near the toilet and the sink as well. We could hear people outside the room, especially because there was a large group of teenagers who were staying on our floor. If you need a bed for the night, this place is a good cheap option

Our stay here was amazing! The rooms were clean, had everything you needed, well thought out use of space and spacious for a capsule style hotel. Fun touches of colour! Outside the room, the staff were friendly and helpful, loved that they had internal food options ( breakfast and vending machine ) and an external laundry!

Location is awful. No nearby shops. Next to an abounded building. You hear the doors slam in the morning and at night. No ice machine. If you need to use the hair dryer, you must return it right away. Close to public transportation, however after midnight it’s not available. Probably better off staying at a hostel.

Great place for its price. Very friendly staff. Tram stop is walking distance away where you can take tram #5 and get to the city centre. Grocery store is 20 mins away. Breakfast for €5 definitely worth it!

Diamond in the Rough

Traveled to Amsterdam for the IBC conference. This time of year, most hotels double their prices because of the significant demand for rooms. I was very pleased to discover the Diamond Capsule Hotel. Great price, easy access to the RAI from the hotel, friendly and helpful staff.
