Desert Palms Hotel & Suites
"The breakfast was great and was a wonderful addition to the trip. It’s just like any other hotel breakfast with the waffles and the oatmeal yogurt, etc. The staff in the kitchen area were wonderful. They were actually the only staff members I encountered that actually acknowledged you with a smile and a hello. Front desk staff was very rude and un empathetic of long travelers. Each time we walked into the hotel after being in Disney or leaving to go to Disney not a high hello welcome back nothing. If it were me running this hotel, I would start with a brand new front desk staff that is what people see the first moment they walk in the door. My experience was a horrible first 15 minutes. he was rude, very matter of fact, and I had to walk all the way back to my car, where there was no parking spot to even check in appropriately. The car was parked very far away as it was later in the evening and many guests were already parked for the night. I had left my ID in my car and not knowing I would need it for check-in. He said he would need it that it was not negotiable and that I would need to go get it. I said I have a copy of it here on my phone that keep verify that it is me, he said nope can’t accept it and told me either go get my ID or he can’t check me in. After 6 1/2 hours of driving this was not the flexibility or the customer service I was looking for. Property is showing its age. It’s definitely needing a little work. TV was very complicated."
