Mixed Feelings

Pros: Room-spacious enough Highlight: Rooftop pool, jacuzzi area with cabanas & views of the city, golf course. Sauna, Steam Room, workout room.
Cons: Room could use updating, b brighter, add dresser, increase TV size & tweak the color & sound. Bathroom pocket door instead of regular
Location: Upper scale location, many restaurants, grocery, other stores & gas stations nearby. Clubs too, if that's your thing. Walking around, plenty to see
Was told at front desk discounted parking rate was for entire stay, however, it was per in/out of auto. (may have been a language misunderstanding, not sure) I was awakened Saturday/Sunday AM due to very loud music from a nearby club & this lasted well into 5AM or so. I called front desk & was told there was nothing they could do about it. Then they brought earplugs to the room & we were on the 20th floor!!! Staff not truthful about in room coffee packets. We stayed 3 days/2 nights. Room had one coffee packet-enough for 2 people. I called requesting another packet for the next day. Was told they were "out of stock" (Really? I didn't believe that). However, I could "Order" room service coffee. I declined, saw a maid on floor, asked her & received a packet! Upon leaving we asked for a receipt, was told by a young male front desk clerk that we would get it via Expedia/Travelocity, not by the hotel. We checked our credit card to see if the deposit was charged, noticed it WAS pending. Returned to front desk, then a female front desk clerk did in fact give us a check out receipt, as we had gotten a check in receipt as well. (Note: Hotel room was paid in advance & this receipt was for the "incidentals" that most hotels require a credit card) Room was comfortable, 2 doors in room had been freshly painted, I could smell paint, but it wasn't too offensive. 32" TV too small for the size of room & distance from TV table to bed, color/sound was horrible.

Will not be going back

So first off check in is 3pm, we arrived and lone was about 30ppl. We were taken to another floor for "faster" check in, then I was told the room I paid extra for was not available. I wouldn't accept that so we waited around untill 6pm to finally get our room, it was ok. Like a low grade room. Beds were uncomfortable halls had a wierd smell and room service never came when called. None of the facilities they advertise were even running, salon, restaurants, casino, club, only the pool. The pool was the only nice thing here. They are all about the money, not satisfied costumers. It was way overpriced for what we got. I recommend pueblo amigo in tj. Way cheaper, way nicer, luxury rooms and great service. Save your money and don't go here

Good choice

There was some construction going on in some areas of the lower levels in the towers. Overall it was a nice place with all the amenities.

Terrible Service

The staff was very rude at the front desk. Also, there was fungus around the tub and the restroom wasn't very clean all around.

First you have pay for parking. The reception desk needs to work on customer service skills! The beds are "not comfortable" they had a hard time finding my reservations.

very pleased

I've stayed in higher level hotels in the US and Canada but the Grand was my first stay in Tijuana. The front desk experience was great. They went out of there way to accomodate me. The parking was secure and clean. The room was more than fine. The bathroom was very clean with all the amenities. My bed was comfortable, the TV had US channels and the room was safe and quiet. All of the staff were friendly, respectful and helpful and I would stay there again without any worries. I submitted my rating as a 4 because I need to be blown away for me to give a 5.
