"This is a quaint hotel with lots of history just a half hour from Capitol Reef National Park. The value is good compared to hotels closer. There are a lot of useful common spaces, including a commercial kitchen, dining room, game room, and cinema. The hotel is self serve with no staff on site, just codes for the exterior and room key pads. It felt a bit like a cross between a hotel and a hostel. All the communal areas, the cooking options, and the overall feel reminded me of hostels, although having my own room and bathroom is of course much better. For me, the communal aspect was a fun change during my long trip as I talked with other travelers. The self service aspect wasn’t completely bad, but more support would have been helpful in my case. When I arrived about three in the afternoon, I found that my bathroom light didn’t work. I called the support number and was told maintenance would come about five. At 5:30 I called again and talked to a different person who hadn’t heard anything about the problem and said they would check on it. During this time I noticed the wall outlet in the bathroom also didn’t work. By 7:30 I gave up on waiting and went wandering. The basement has common spaces and in one corner I found a dark utility room with the breaker panel. Found the tripped switch and fixed the problem myself. Never heard back from anyone. Overall, a nice place if you don’t mind being self sufficient. Also, grocery is across the street."
