I loved this friendly gorgeous place in the desert. From the teepees, wagons, cabins and the views everything was well planned and put together. As a solo traveler, i felt safe and comfortably. I was absolutely in awe of this place.

This resort has the most amazing views!!! I was only supposed to stay here one night, as I was on my way elsewhere, but after checking into my room & seeing the mountains from my balcony, I immediately booked another night. My room was beautifully furnished, the bed & the recliner were comfy. The Pioneer Kitchen restaurant serves delicious food. The front desk staff were extremely pleasant & explained everything in detail. The only issue I had was with the cleaning staff, who knocked on my door twice despite me having a sign on the door, as well as me declining service after their first knock. I had my key updated with the front desk around 7:30-8 a.m., so the housekeeping staff should've been informed (they knocked around 11:30 a.m.). I would still highly recommend this property if you like hiking (here, you can hike with a llama!) or horseback riding (also offered here) or if you are interested in seeing the Capitol Reef National Park, which is only a few minutes drive from here.

Next Door to Capitol Reef

The location was amazing you are right next to Capitol Reef National Park. We stayed in the Standard room which was very nicely decorated and clean. The hotel is a renovated motel so the bathroom is small and it has the layout of an old motel room, but the decor is very nice and the beds are very comfortable. The on-site restaurant has delicious food. The pool is cold but refreshing in the heat and the hot tub will warm you up. The pool in the online photo is not what you are going to get. It is a bit old and needs a little work. The chaise lounges and umbrellas are still in good shape. The resort has built some cabins that distract from the view but made the worst choice in building a gym which blocks a huge part of the view. They do have room on the property it would be nice to have another pool built so they could have a family friendly pool and an adult pool. The first day there were so many children in the pool splashing about you could barely fit in it. Great stay overall and will return.

Fantastic view, loved the balcony, we could sit out there and see the stars! Our room could stand some updating, wallpaper was peeling. But it was very clean. Staff at front desk were not at all friendly, very robotic. It gets 5 stars for the property over all and the view.

So much missed potential

Give the people in marketing their bonus every year - they make this place look like a million bucks. We stayed in a cabin with a view of the beautiful red rock terrain. The room concept is a good one - king bedroom in the back, living room with pullout couch, small loft overhead, and deck with grill and seating. In reality, it’s cramped and sorely lacking in quality cleaning. Let’s talk about the floors… within 10 minutes of walking barefoot inside, all of our feet were black. We cooked the first night… grabbing a plate, there was either something that was once refried beans or had decayed to the point of looking like refried beans. The shower has a strong mildew scent. Needless to say, if you have strong expectations for cleanliness, prepare for severe disappointment. Otherwise, the fixtures and hardware like the table/cabinets are showing a lot of wear and lack of maintenance. Even the bunk beads had a welded ladder - said ladder was not capped and had countless sharp edges/weld splatter exposed… a hazard to little hands and feet. Staff came to replace the room digits at rhe front door - just came into our space without asking if it was ok first or notifying us they needed to do something. It was awkward. The stay was disappointing enough that we abandoned ship after only the second night of our planned three night stay. At the very steep price per night for cabins, we should have received a decidedly cleaner room. We would not stay here again.

Covered wagons are a very unique experience. My kids loved those! The pool area is not as well kept as the photos show. That was a disappointment. The area was dirty as well.
