Stayed for two nites and base for three days in Big Bend and Big Bend Ranch. I was put off at first with the 'wild west' theme but the remote location down a two mile gravel [and mud if rains], is isolated, private and silent. Shared kitchen was fine for our time with 1/3 of the units rented in possibly hot May. Get there early though for the better coffee pods and creme cheese. These units are spacious, generous plans and tall ceilings [with fan], minimal, and our 'room' number 17 was superiorly placed for view from porch in thunder storms. Privacy and great view out the rear window to the close-by rock shards. The showers are big enough for two, plenty of warm water. 17 had new appliances [fridge, microwave]. We had storms each late afternoon or evening [so much for dark skies] and the views to the peaks across was stunning. We were even able to turn off the AC [which worked wonderfully] at nite. We had clear directions on getting there and access.
