Welcome to our unique abode nestled in the vibrant heart of Redfern. The Downtown Retreat has been freshly furnished, perfect for your stay in the heart of Inner Sydney.
A 5 minute walk to Redfern Station and a 3 minute walk to Redfern Park, our home is centrally located whether you are coming to Sydney for work or to explore our wonderful city.
The Downtowner has a secure private carspace for 1 car, as well as ample secure visitor parking (subject to avalibility), this is your perfect home!
We are a company that does a lot of travelling so our best means of contact would be either through the app or please email us and my Team will respond as soon as possible!
HOUSE RULES * Check-in: After 3:00 pm * Checkout: 10:00 am * No smoking * No parties or events *No pets allowed * The home can accommodate up to 6 guests with an air mattress upon request, with a fee of $140. Please let us know upon booking if this option is required.
ADDITIONAL RULES *As per the Short Term Legislation Act 2020 NSW, all guests are required to obey these rules. For extra guests/day visitors, we must be informed for liability purposes.
*To comply with local regulations, all guests are kindly asked to review and accept our booking Terms and Conditions in the Pre-arrival check-in form. For everyone’s security and peace of mind, we also require a valid ID and card details for a temporary pre-authorisation, which is held as a security deposit for the duration of your stay.
*Only the guests staying at the property are permitted to be present. If you wish to have visitors in addition to booked guests, you must advise us in writing prior to your stay and ensure you receive written permission.
*This home is a strictly no-smoking property. If any of our cleaners find any form of cigarette ash, butts or smell cigarettes in the home, we could issue a $500 fine.
*This is a domestic residence and we love our neighbours. We do not allow loitering out the front of the building or in the common areas. Please respect our home and neighbours. We ask for minimal noise in the common areas, especially after 9 pm.
*STRA Rules - By booking this home you automatically agree to all the STRA terms and conditions that are applicable to guests. You also agree that if you do break any of the house rules you will be asked to leave and no refund of the unused nightly rates will be returned.
*Check-in/Check-out - We cannot stress enough the importance of checking out on time. Our regular check-in time is after 3 pm and check-out time is before to 10 am. If you wish to have an earlier check-in or later check-out, please reach out to us first. Please note, there may be a charge.
*Changing of Dates Terms & Conditions - Requests to change booking dates may only be accommodated if check-in is more than 1 month away. - This is subject to approval and we reserve the right to decline any requests. - Please note that there may be a surcharge to change the dates. - Any changes to bookings are subject to approval and we ask all guests to reach out to us first.
THINGS TO KNOW * Checkin details will be sent either the night before checking in, or the morning of check-in for security reasons.
* We only provide 1 set of keys for each stay. We do not have extra sets.
*Please note, there is only an aircon unit in the living room. There are ceiling fans in all bedrooms.
*Building works will be taking place from September 2025 to March 2026. Scaffolding will be set up at the front of the building (near the mailboxes and car park entrance). This should not cause significant disruption, as the scaffolding will not cover the entire frontage at once. Instead, it will be installed in sections, with each section expected to remain for approximately 12–16 weeks, depending on the work required. Additionally, the apartment entry doors and door frames (exterior only) will also be painted. Work is scheduled to begin on Monday, September 15, and will continue for several weeks. Please note that during this period, workers may knock on your door to request it be opened briefly so they can complete the painting.

Will Never Again Rent Without a Review
I believe this property was new to VRBO as it had no reviews and a”converted” star rating.I will give credit to the Management Company as they did promptly respond to every email/request.I will start by saying this was not a cheap rental, so this contributes to the harshness of the review.The apartment had been surfaced cleaned, but desperately needs a deep clean. For example, the ceiling fans (all of them) were caked in dirt, there was hair all over the back bathroom floor (I found a vacuum and resolved this issue), the vents in the bathroom were ineffective because dirt was blocking the vents and the grout, especially in the first bathroom’s shower was borderline disgusting.The other major issues were:1) The place is advertised that it has A/C. What is not noted is that it is only in the living room with no chance of reaching the back bedrooms. My Partner slept on the couch because it was too hot in the bedroom even with the fans.2) The place was not well supplied. There were no napkins or paper towels (to their credit when I emailed about this, they offered and did reimburse us for the paper towels we purchased); the laundry detergent bottle was empty as was the bag of dishwasher tablets. Also the number of glasses provided was very limited.On the positive side, the building is very secure. The Train station is about a 12-17 minute walk.Redfern is a kind of funky/quirky area which we liked. There are some great restaurants and good breakfast places.
