The Beach Club at Charleston Harbor Resort and Marina
"The property was beautiful and well maintained., but could benefit from having the connecting pathways better lit, as at night, we had to use flashlights to see our way between the pool hot tub fire pit areas and the restaurants We only found out at check in that there was a resort fee of 45.00 dollars a day. We asked to check out one hour late the last day, a Monday, and were told there would be a 75.00 fee, even though it was practically empty. The property was recently acquired and the front desk help were always different, over the 5 days we were there, often confused about basic questions, like was there or was there not entertainment at their facility. The facility calendar also indicated there was scheduled entertainment but when we got there on the scheduled evening, there was no entertainment and folks behind the bar had no info, like it was no big deal, which is kind of a funny attitude for a resort establishment hopefully interested in delivering what was promised. The morale of the people who worked in the hotel seemed low, with the exception of 1)the people at the spa, who were excellent, and I did get one of the best massages ever, shout out to Christine! And 2) the people at the tiki bar, market, reel house, and fish house. No tip envelopes for housekeeping staff. Recommend new owners invest in management to train staff, as the human factor matters a lot for guest’s takeaway experience."
