Lady at front desk with Blonde hair seemed most concerned as to why i had a service dog with me . I foster dogs for Mich Leader dog , and asked for a room on Bottom ground level with walk out to the outside,.. She told me no Dog rooms are on 2nd floor and asked why i had a service dog . Had a additude when i said Golden Retriver , about the hair. No phone in room to reach front desk . House keeping did not bring fresh towels,each day or offer to change sheets. I had to ask and was told they only do that on request if staying more than one night. You would think they would just clean and replace towels without having to ask. On check out was a different lady at Desk she was more friendly..

We stayed here 2 mos prior with grandkids. The pool, hot tubs were great & conveniently close to our room of which was clean & comfortable with a wonderful view of the beach/lake. Kids had a great time. I would give that stay 5 stars. Because of previous experience we booked a 2nd visit. Unfortunately, this time Im down rating due to the fact we had to cut our stay a day early due to the beds being so hard & uncomfortable. As a result, my husband & I experienced such horrible back pain its taken 3 weeks, pain meds & dr visits to finally feel somewhat back to normal. Staff were very apologetic & graciously said they would provide a refund for the deleted day but since we booked though this site, its up to Expedia to approve our refund. Waiting to see if Expedia will come through for us.

The room made a horrible noise every time the people upstairs ran the water, even woke us up at 6:00 am. the next morning. Also an older lady at the breakfast area blocked the door and did not allow us to come in because it was 8:59 am. One minute before their cut-off time, I guess. I thought it was crazy, but was not going to make an issue. We just left..

Easy check in. Though dated, the facilities are clean and adequate. Bed was a little hard. Walking distance to a great Mexican restaurant. Beautiful view of Lake Huron and Mackinac Island.

Building smelled so moldy I had to cover my nose and mouth when i went in and out. If they would replace the carpet it might help some. The building is extremely old and worn out. Our room smelled ok and the beds were comfortable. I won't stay there again.

This is a great place to stay! The staff goes over the top to make your experience awesome. From finding the right room to accommodate your needs, to making sure your breakfast is fresh and awesome. Our room was very clean, looked to be newly remodeled with a new desk and chair, updated cabinetry, carpet, sink and countertop. The room had great features like a larger fridge, charge points for both USB and USB C devices built in to outlets and lights. Large artwork that was themed and relevant to this location, a nice new sitting chair, - a normal sized door with a screen/storm door and a large picture window between the room and balcony; great tub/shower with a nice powerful shower-head, and of course a wonderfully comfortable bed. The common areas of the building are older and could use some freshening up but the facilities are functional and more than adequate. Also, it looks like they are upgrading things. For the price, I couldn’t be happier with the outcome of our stay. The real gems here are the staff and of course the magnificent sunrise and views right on the lake. One piece of advice - most people want to help you but having unrealistic expectations and being demanding won’t produce good results anywhere. Expect a 2 star hotel, I did, and received 5 star service and got much more than the advertised 2 star place. Thank you management and staff.
