"Amazing, the photos do not do it justice, lovely cosy cottage a home from home and fully equipped. Great location, short walk to village incl pubs and chippy, also access to walks (which pass through livestick fields so dogs on leads). Grizedale forest was a short drive away with really good (long ..."

Keswick Country House Hotel
"What kept Keswick Country House from one star is the old style charm of the hotel. The experience itself, however, was disappointing. We happened to be there during a heat wave for this part of the world. We also had a west facing room. I don't fault the hotel for not having A/C. It only needs it ..."

Lakeside Hotel & Spa
"Nice welcome from reception and help with bags. Room very comfortable and clean but a bit stuffy due to exceptionally warm weather and no AC in room which can’t be helped but had brought our own cooling fan in addition to the one provided by the hotel. No bar service outside so had to get own drinks ..."

The Belsfield Hotel
"Beautiful hotel, very impressive on arrival. Polite and friendly staff and served a very good breakfast. The hotel has a great bar and reception area as well as some quaint seating areas. However the gardens rooms were not as we expected, not part of the main hotel, and almost like an extension attached to the main building. With no pictures in the corridors, and just bare walls, it actually felt quite neglected compared to the rest of the beautifully decorated hotel. The room itself was nice and spacious with a patio door to outside seating but sadly the bathroom let it down. The toilet button was broken, the towel rail fell off each time we reached for a towel, and there was mould around the edge of the bath. Pretty poor for a hotel of this standard. We also felt a £15 a day car parking fee pretty poor. Saying this the hotel is in a prime position right opposite the lake and we did enjoy our stay. For anyone with a visit booked shortly please note the hotel garden is also having major works completed but it has been sectioned off quite nicely and no work was carried out whilst we were there so no disruptions to guests."
