The room was spacious and clean, it was way too hot-the noise from the kitchen below was unbearable, constant droning from there and deliveries start at 6am, 2 nights without sleep isnt good. First day breakfast was incorrect and inedible, second day despite asking twice we we didnt even get breakfast - a pot of tea turned up made with cold water, how can you get it so wrong?? The reception staff were very professional, kitchen and waiting on staff were untrained, impolite and looked lost. One guy with short grey hair and glasses deserves credit as he was the only one who looked like he wanted to work there. Avoid at all costs.

Great location for shops, bars & restaurants. Beautiful views of the lake from the bar & breakfast rooms. Only issue is the offsite parking. Could be quite awkward & if you use the hotel site it’s a ridiculous price of £25 per day. Not a great management decision in the tough hotel competition, especially as it is an open car park with just a security barrier. The local car park was just £7.00 per day. Safe & quiet. Felt happy to leave car there for a couple of days

It's a well located hotel with good facilities and friendly staff, however car park is far too expensive and to charge extra for certain breakfast items in the menu is disappointing would also benefit some TLC in certain areas, including new towels, which were well worn.

Horrible experience

The worst hotel we stayed in in a long time. 1. The parking is 25 per night - rip off. 2. They don't respond to messages. 3.The breakfast was sad and the service was slow. We had to wait 10 minutes to be sat down despite many empty tables (if you have mobility issues or are heavily pregnant, it's frustrating). 4. Food was unimpressive especially if you have dietry requirements. Our vegan breakfast was anemic and they didn't have dairy free butter/margarine. The waiters didn't bother cleaning the empty plates, so we had to pile them up. 5. The rooms were unbearably hot. 6. Bed and pillows were really uncomfortable. 7. If your room faces the street, be prepared for drunk people shouting and fighting underneath your window (we would have paid more had we known). 8. Bathrooms are really dated. 9. The water mixer wasn't working properly so we had cold and hot water coming out of the shower simultaneously. It's not a 4 star hotel. It's zero stars really. We wouldn't recommend and would never come back.

Lovely stay but avoid breakfast

We stayed in a family suite. The room was great as were the grounds of the hotel. The only thing that let down our stay was breakfast. Even though we had to book our time slot we stood in a long queue to gain access and waited for quite a while before a staff member came to assist. Once seated we ordered tea/coffee and toast, after approx 15 mins we were then asked what hot breakfast we would like- we still hadn’t received our tea or toast. By the time we eventually got our breakfast 40 mins after we entered our tea was cold. I would stay again but wouldn’t have breakfast.

Hotel in a prime position beside Windermere . Comfortable rooms , very friendly staff . Good breakfast . Furnishings a bit tired I am afraid . It’s our second stay and we will be back. Only downside really for us is our adult son is wheelchair bound and although his room was brilliantly arranged for him the lift near his room was broken so he could not get in and out of the room without the help of a strong person .
