"Inverness Conference Center/Hotel"
Conference Center Hotel in Inverness--not especially close to anything--decor woefully dated, but the room was quiet and comfortable.

"Excellent Country Setting"
This is a beautiful country estate. We had the Avon suite which had a large bay window from which we could see birds and the gardens. The country setting allowed for secluded walks. The food in the restaurant was fine as was the outstanding service. The facility is old which leads to creaking floors but everything worked fine. We'd recommend it heartily.

"A Magical Place!!!"
The Culloden House was spectacular in every way. The price was very reasonable. It was a grand house of yesteryear where my husband and I were treaty not only like royalty but also like family. The staff was so very kind I felt like I had come home. The house had so much history. Even if you were weren't able to see any sites in Inverness you would leave this house still know so much about the wonderful history of the area. It is like a museum. The food was wonderful with every dish served with elegance and style you don't see anymore. Don't think for one second this grand house is cold or stuffy. On the contrary the rooms are large, comfortable and very warm. The beds were like sleeping on a cloud. Of course the place is always warmed by the hearts of the staff. While this estate had style and grace to accommodate royalty there was never an air of pretension. Everyone was treated as a friend with the utmost kindness and hospitality. We had the pleasure every morning of being greeted by Kyle. He is such a wonderful man who truly loves being there. He gave my husband and I a wonderful tour of the house. We could have spent all day talking to him and wouldn't have cared about seeing the sites of Inverness. I must admit I teared up a bit when pulling out of the driveway of this place. It was difficult to leave. We will treasure the memories and hope to return some day.

7 Ness Walk, Inverness - Map
"Great location but lacking in other areas"
The location of this hotel is excellent - right across from the canal from Inverness Castle. The view from the front bar is amazing at night with the castle lit up, and the bar has a nice selection of beverages and decent pub food. The room was comfortable enough - nothing fancy. We backed up to the back alley so had to hear garbage collection quite early one morning. Our biggest complaint is the included breakfast. Apparently this hotel caters to large bus groups, so entering the breakfast buffet room (a different area than the front bar I mentioned earlier), they did not seem prepared to handle a group of two. Our table the first morning was quite dirty, and when I asked to be moved, I got an attitude and excuses - a simple apology and new table would have sufficed. The food had sat out quite a while on the buffet and we must have come in after a large group with selections not being replenished.

Kingsmills Hotel Inverness

Culcabock Road, Inverness - Map
"Nice hotel and good base to explore distilleries"
My wife and I stayed at Kingsmill for a couple of days as we explored distilleries in the area. We stayed in the luxury (new) wing. The ground floor rooms with patios looked cute, but it was cold and snowing, so we stayed in a conventional room. It was evident the hotel is a bit of social hub for Inverness - probably the most formal place in town. Lots of locals - couples out for a romantic dinner, entire extended families gathered for the weekend, etc., which was nice. The hotel decor is a little bit dated, but not worn. Gives it a homey feel - but certainly not a sleek hotel like those in Edinbhurgh. Staff was friendly and helpful with recommending restaurants. Small but perfectly fine pool, sauna and gym. The spa (in a different building) was booked full, so we could not experience it. Just FYI for those not from UK, it seems all gyms require that you deposit one Pound to use the lockers. I normally do not take change with me to the gym, but learned to do so. The hotel is right on the golf course (which was covered with snow) and is not in the city center, but it was only a 15-20 minute walk to the city center, which has lots of restaurants and pubs. Overall, a nice stay.

"Nice Location and decent accomodation"
My sister and I were on a road trip and stayed at this hotel for a night. The hotel was conveniently located near the freeway, had a bar and a restaurant which served late night food, and had a decent rate for the room provided. The beds were a bit uncomfortable but the room was fine since we were only staying for a night.
