Love this place

Landed by chance in this fabulous hotel. Couldn't make it home so had to stay somewhere. Got a last minute deal late in the evening. I had time for a couple of pints in the big wooden lodge style building accessed via a wooden bridge. Great singer entertaining. Whole hotel is set in forest but 60 seconds from main road to Cairngorms. Bus stop at entrance. Next time I stay I'll be bring my wife and dogs. They'd love it here.

If you’re staying longer than a night be warned the rooms in the annex are small I’ve been in bigger jail cells. myself and small child just about got into the queen bed. And not even a lamp in the room. The place if so big. It’s a well oiled machine. We stayed and included the half board option. I must say the food in the buffet style restaurant was well worth the money. WELL DONE TO THE COOKS AND waiting STAFF

Sad breakfast

Excellent except for breakfast when the kitchen serving staff disappeared for about 15 minutes. This was just as the restaurant became busier. There were some items of food not available - eg fried eggs. Any request for other food specially prepared eg poached egg - was not available for that time. The restaurant staff were helpful and friendly but the kitchen let them down.

It was a great place to stay in and enjoy the surrounding area the staff were very friendly and we experienced no problems. We ate in house and were very happy with the choices . Not sure why there were dinosaurs !

I was looking for suitable, fun hotel for me and my grandchildren as a stop over stay before travelling on the next day. I was impressed by the kids activities offered and felt it was a great opportunity for them to have lots of evening fun. The hotel is beautiful and staff are helpful but, it stopped there. At 6/7pm, everything stopped and there is absolutely nothing for children to do. Very busy hotel with lots of families, kids sitting around on phones to pass the time. So disappointed, closure time for entertainment should be highlighted instead, when I looked on hotel web page, in small print it says email them for times. Expedia should support customers. I took the kids to fun house the next day at 10am, opening time. They'd been tired so I let them sleep meaning they missed breakfast, ok as I'd buy them something; I asked the staff what they had to eat, nothing until 12noon. Then asked to book in to play zone, after paying £13 I was told one couldn't get on as trouser only. Had to ask for a refund as no trousers, only shorts. I was told I couldn't get a refund. So disappointed in the experience. Surely again, they should advertise day entertainment for kids only. Also hotel stops serving food at 8.30pm,

It was a forgettable stay. Okay a budget room but the bed was awful and toilet / shower room tiny. Mattress springs gone. We booked out at 3am snd went home advising night manager of reasons. Dont think he cared. Stayed here before but probably won't be back. Pay a little more for some sleep next time.

Great hotel for families with plenty activities on site and nearby. Only downfall was it was a bit noisy with squeaky floorboards so you could hear everybody walking down corridors but that wouldnt put me off staying again as all the other plus points more than made up for it.

One night wasn't enough.

We had a great stay. We were only there for one night but wish we could have stayed longer. All the staff were really friendly and helpful. We spent the evening in the lounge area listening to some live music. We loved the feel of the lounge area and the musician was great. Our two sons enjoyed playing the arcades although some of them weren't working. The room was lovely. The beds were really comfortable. I'm the morning, we used the swimming pool, which was lovely. We then went to the soft play, which was reasonably priced. My sons were there for 2 hours and didn't want to leave. After that, my sons played in the play park, which they really enjoyed.
