I liked the clean quiet room i had but it was on the second floor with no elevstor, and i have knee problems. Greg the front desk person was kind enough to carry my bags upstairs for me. Also there was no grab bar in the shower for safety. Other than these things, i enjoyed my stay

Quick and easy check in & out. We were considering the noise of the first room when we checkin then the staff was very nice and helpful and let us change to a room indoor.

Location: There is a lot to do and restaurants at the pier.
The hotel was nice and clean. The front desk was very helpful. She changed my room because Travelocity said I needed a handicap room which I did not. The hotel was close everything.

Staff goes the extra mile

Pros: Free breakfast, Close restaurants, Free Internet, Quiet, helpful staff
I had a workshop to attend and the front desk staff went out of their way to get my room a little early so I had time to prepare. Great staff.

Do Not Stay Here!

The management here is terrible, abusive. We chose our room based on the presence of a jacuzzi tub that we wanted to bathe our children in after a night of camping. The tub turned out to have no obvious way to be stopped up, so I called the front desk to ask where the stopper was. I was told there was no stopper, that there was no way to stop up the tub and that it could only be used for taking a shower, not a bath. My husband also spoke to the night clerk and confirmed this information. The next morning I complained to the manager that we were not told that the tub could not be used and asked for a discount. We ended up in a dispute with the manager, who then, incredibly, accused us of lying because the housekeeper was able to locate the stopper that we had been told by the night clerk didn't exist. Even aside from this encounter, the hotel is shabbily built with thin walls and bad beds. NOT RECOMMENDED!

Stay Away from the Santa Cruz Best Western Inn!

Horrible management. While the hired staff is friendly, the management is rude and unmoving. This hotel is a host hotel for a local baseball tournament organization, yet they are completely NOT kid friendly. \n \nMy keys were lost, so AAA cam to open my vehicle. As the team manager, I needed to get the equipment out of the car for our games. The alarm sounded then stopped after a couple of minutes. After it stopped, management hired a tow truck to take my car away because of the disruption, even though they knew my dilemma and were told that the alarm would not be sounding again. $* later, and I am fuming! They said they were towing my car to pay back for the complaints by other guests about the alarm and about the boys. Mind you, the boys made minimal noise and were all in bed by 9:45 pm. Seems like displaced retribution, if you ask me. \n \nAlso, we rented at least eight rooms, yet we were all given different prices and availability for our rooms. Something's up with that. \n \nI would NEVER frequent this hotel again! The pipes in the walls were extremely loud, waking me up at 5:30 am. \n \nThis hotel gives a bad name to the Best Western corporation. Too bad for BW. In the past I hve always stayed at BW based on reputation. From now on I will definitely think twice.
