Met others at the hotel who had been on our cruise who said it was about 25 min. to Venice proper where they had the gondolas but my friend had picked up a bug on the cruise and wasn't feeling well enough to head out so we just stayed in, Sad to have missed out on the main stuff in Venice! Free shuttle to and from the airport was a plus! Staff was great too, very friendly. It sat in what seemed like a residential neighborhood, which seemed weird. We walked around but didn't come across anything like stores or restaurants."
