So Thankful to be able to get into this Hotel. We had been traveling and didn't have a good experience with another hotel. So was pleasantly surprised at the Hilton Double Tree. The cookies were also a nice treat after long travels Thankful that the Tram was so convenient for our sightseeing. Traffic is horrendous in San Diego.so we really happy to park the car and not worrying about driving.

Pros: the bathroom
Cons: not charging for local calls and parking
paying $24.00 a night for parking and $1.00 per LOCAL CALLS is absolutely ridicules!!!!

Convenient and Clean

Pros: Clean, contemporary furnishings, and comfortable.
Location: In Mission Valley and close to shopping, restaurants and movie theaters.
My husband and I moved to the DoubleTree after spending an uncomfortable night at another hotel. This hotel is affiliated with Hilton and their standards for excellence. By the way, try the fried ravioli in the lobby bar. Excellent!

Beautiful hotel, terrible room

Pros: Very nice hotel building and the desk staff were nice, but were shocked when I told them about the problems in my room.
Cons: Plumbing, electrical service, TV control unit and "designer chair" which was totally inappropriate for use at the desk.
Location: In San Diego which is a very crowded and congested city. Lots to do, but lots of traffic as well.
First, the hotel is very nice. But my room was one of the worst I have ever had. To start, the chair provided to use the desk must have been chosen by someone who has never used a desk. It was a reclining type chair, and totally inappropriate for using a computer or anything else that sat on the desk. There was a desk lamp which had two electrical outputs on it, neither of which made any contact with the blades of my computer's power plug. Thinking that I had power, I operated my computer for several hours until my computer alarm indicated that that I had only 7% power left. After some debugging, I identified the problem then found the only workable solution for using the computer on the desk was to lie on the floor and plug it into the power strip that was located on the back of the desk. Then I found out that the remote control for the brand new 4G television did not work! Probably low battery power but possibly an incompatible control unit. Who knows? I didn't shower the first morning, but when I tried to take a shower on the second morning, the shower control would not work!! This was after experiencing sewage in my sink from a plumber working in an adjacent room on a problem there. This was a short stay from HELL. I was also surprised that the hotel charged for parking (self-parking, not just for valet) of $20/day. And internet service which has become a standard complimentary service in EVERY hotel I have stayed in for the past ten years was charged to me at $9.95/day.

Close t shops and restaurants

Disappointed parking and wifi were not included. Breakfast is pricy so plan on eating elsewhere if u have a large family. Service is limited in the evenings due to small staff.

Not what I expected.

Cons: Some free perks. Like free wifi, free breakfast
For the price we paid for this hotel, I would have expected more perks. This hotel offered zero! I don't need Bars or fancy places to eat. Small bottles of water were placed in our room with a label placed on the neck of the bottle with a price of $3.79 per bottle. I don't pay that for a case of 24. No more trips to San Diego. Its way too expensive and the traffic is relentless. Very hard to get around.

Great location

Pros: The view and location
Cons: Refrigerator in all rooms ,indoor pool should be heated , maintenance issues should be dealt with expedient measures!!!!
Location: Right in the heart of shopping centers !!! light rail across the street !!!
Front desk accommodated my early 11 am check in !!! with a 7th floor room with a view +++ ~~~~!!!~~!~!~~ room had no refrigerator forcing me to use the bathroom sink as a cooler and was forced to use tub as a sink that aspect of the stay not all that pleasant simply should not have to do that 4 those nightly rates ---- sauna was out of order apparently 4 an extended period also not acceptable 4 those nightly rates --- indoor pool was not heated ---

Great hotel next to public transportation

The service was great from the start. I could do not without having to pay for parking but I just parked on the street. To head out for some night life experience you can just walk across the street and take the train. Everything was super clean in my room. I loved it.

Perfect location for the big game!

Super nice room...nice bar...good food. Directly across the street from the trolley that will take you right to QualComm or GasLamp. And, lots of places like, Tilted Kilt and H00ters within a mile.

Great bed--plus cookies too!

Pros: Close restaurants, Quiet, great beds
Cons: expensive parking
This hotel was in a great location in Mission Valley close by restaurants, shops and the mall. VERY large rooms--great beds! Quiet hotel which is what I was looking for after a long flight from NYC in the morning. Front desk was efficient and didn't even make a comment about Travelocity booking which I have had from other hotel clerks. There were a bunch of kids in the hotel--a soccer tournament and the kids were loud in the lobby. Clerk called someone to get them to quiet down and assured me that our room was nowhere near them. I did think $18 was pretty steep for parking overnight--that's my only complaint.
