As an experienced traveler, I always do thorough research when choosing where to stay. I check maps, read reviews, and take extra care in selecting a place to stay, especially when traveling alone. For my one-night stay in the center of Rome, I booked Locanda Parlamento, but my experience here was far from what I expected. I booked my stay at this property and received a confirmation. The hotel even reached out a few days prior to confirm my booking, provide maps, and share useful information, which initially gave me a good impression.
However, when I arrived and was taken to my room, I was shocked. This is not a hotel—it's a room in an old, run-down building. It felt more like a place rented out by the hour, if you know what I mean. The building was dirty, and the room itself was in poor condition. The reception is only open before 9 pm, and after that, there’s no one available to assist you.
While the staff was friendly and helpful initially, things took a turn when I needed help later in my stay. The room itself was uncomfortable, with broken AC, and the temperature was freezing. I tried to contact the staff, but the person supposed to respond was unavailable after 1 am. I had to sleep in a cold room.To make matters worse, I left food in my room to have for lunch, but when I returned, it was covered in ants. My bags were also full of ants. When I informed the receptionist, there was no apology. In summary - stay away
