Rooms did not look like the picture!!

Rooms were no where near as nice as photos! Be prepared to pay 10 euros for a coke out of the mini fridge. Room was not ready until after 4 pm. Be sure to find the supermarket in town for reasonable prices on drinks and snacks. Very overrated!

Awesome hotel.

Pros: View, Service and cleanliness.
Location: The hotel is not in the city center which makes it nice. Vatican is very close. They have shuttles taking the hotel guests to the city center.
Very nice hotel. Close to Vatican. Service was excellent. Recommend getting breakfast as part of reservation. Ask for rooms facing the city. Staff is extremely accommodating and courteous.

Be careful of relying on this place to get your luggage or take you to the correct place in the airport for flights.

Pros: Free breakfast, Close restaurants, Quiet
Cons: No free Internet, butler service was a nightmare, limo service a nightmare
This is what I sent to the Assistant Manager. Never heard back from him. You decide if this is 5-Star quality I think not. would like to take a chance to provide a summation of our last hours with your 5-Star resort. As you recall earlier in the week (I believe it was on Thursday, 12/29) we had some earlier issues with our stay. I provided you hand written notes (yes I do realize poorly written but it was vacation and I did not expect to give them to you as they were my notes of the issues which included at the beginning of our stay our luggage not being delivered until Sunday at 5:00 p.m. after we had arrived early Saturday. In addition we had issues with your concierge desk in booking reservations, transportation, and in general their attitudes towards us several times. There were also other minor issues if you recall. It was simply a disappointment in dealing with your concierge desk in general. We actually stopped using that service in the middle of the week due to their complete inefficiency. Thus hopefully you recall our conversation that ended with you providing complimentary service to the airport for our departure which I felt was a wonderful resolution to our issues/frustrations with parts of the hotel. Before I entail what happened due to the complimentary service I would like to commend the front desk, the Imperial Lounge staff, the housekeeping, and of course the lounge/restaurant services. They were beyond expectations even for a 5-Star resort. They are employees that you should be very proud of in all aspects of how they provide customer service. They were simply the best we have ever experienced in all of our many travels around the world. We would like a sincere thank you passed on to all of these excellent employees. Now to the final issues at hand. Earlier I spoke about the concierge service being less than acceptable in their approach to the type of service they provide as well as in the manner of efficiency to ensure the customer (us being this case) has complete satisfaction. On December 31st I went to the concierge desk and gave them my flight information to ensure the complimentary limousine service would know exactly where to take us when we arrived at the Airport. We awoke at 3:00 a.m. due to having a departure from your resort at 4:30 a.m. in order to make our flight which was at 6:15 a.m. Again I had given all the information to the concierge desk the day before and again provided the information about our flight to the driver once we entered the vehicle at 4:30 a.m. Your driver took us to the airport going well over a 100 mph. The driver also took us to terminal 5 at the airport. Took our bags out of the vehicle took his tip and drove off. The terminal was closed!!!! We stood outside of the terminal for over an hour in 20 -30 degree weather. My wife was absolutely frozen at this time. Once the terminal opened at 5:50 a.m. the delta desk was still closed. We were at the wrong terminal!!! We missed our flight!! How in the world did this happen, HOW!!! How does the driver just take you to a closed terminal when he had all the info? There are many details I would like to share but this is not the email for that at this time. We did not arrive home in Roanoke, VA until almost midnight (remember there is also the six hour time differential as well). We spent the end of our vacation the way we started it in being frustrated due to your staff. I would like to know how this is 5-star service when you cannot even provide simply services such as attaining a guest luggage(how we started our week) and providing transportation to a customer’s flight when given all the information. To say I am upset is such an understatement especially given the expense of the stay and that we spent over $2,500 Euro’s while staying at your resort. We spent our last day in the cold, having to hope we get back home, having to pay several fees for our change in flights and stay in the airports for meals ect, in addition to sitting in terminals most of the day in dirty clothes, just like we started the week. I look forward to your response and would respectfully request the email addresses of your ownership and supervisors. This was simply wrong on your resort behalf!!! Be well.

This hotel is fabulous

Pros: Free breakfast, Free Internet, Quiet
Cons: outside of city but easily accessible via shuttle
I think the hotel is a bit pricey for a family vacation, but we used our HHonors points to book our 4-night stay. The hotel is fabulous. The room was exactly as described: it was large, clean, and quite comfortable. The bed was the best I have ever had in a hotel. The staff was nice and always helpful. The hotel itself was beautiful. The shuttle into the city was convenient and always on time. Being a HHonors gold member, we had access to the Colosseo Lounge where the nightly snacks and alcohol were delicious and plentiful. The free breakfast buffet was tremendous. On our second and third night, we were given access to the Imperial Lounge on the 7th floor. The views are spectacular. The food selection was varied and so plentiful that you couldn't sample it all. Again, the alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks were varied and endless. We went to Rome to celebrate our 25th anniversary, and we took two friends with us. It was their first trip to Rome, and they were blown away with the hotel. Words cannot express how pleased we were with the hotel and our trip overall. Bravo, Rome Cavalieri!

disappointed, not a 5 star, definitely 2 star quality

Pros: Free breakfast, Free Internet, if you are a diamond member of hilton, roberto in restaurant was fantastic
Cons: Nothing close, Noisy, dirty alcohol bottles in hallways disappoiting s
We were severely disappointed with the hotel. Our story begins with the long check in in the “private check in area”. While the hotel had a sufficient air about it, it is not a 5 start hotel and potential guests should be forewarned. The first shock was to find outside our door in the morning, bottles of alcohol, for instance, Smirnoff lemonade or beer bottles as lined up by the housekeeping service. We had children with us and this was not something I wish them to see when they walk out side of the room in the morning. In fact, when we went to breakfast about 9.00 in the morning, the halls were not clean, they desperately needed vacuuming and the bottles and plates and other dishes in the hallways were surprising. This was reminiscent of a 2 star hotel back in the college days. As a diamond level Hilton Honors award member, the service or extra benefits as being a Diamond member were dodgey. A lounge room for gold and diamond level members on the first floor and very poorly organised and the decor was not enjoyable. If you are not a Diamond member, there is a lovely charge of 18 euros per person to use the pool area. The service at the breakfast which was this barely edible buffet, was terrible. We had days where coffee took 30 - 40 minutes after several requests. The seating on the terrace was always covered in bird droppings questioning the cleanliness and sanitation of the hotel. The hotel is quite a ways out of town and it take, and in the middle of August when most people in Rome are on vacation, it took us 30 minutes to get down the hill to the center of town. The thing that was most frustrating was that we were stranded up on the hill and had to take long cab rides or bus rides into town for dinner. There was only one restaurant open at the hotel, which is severely overpriced for Rome. We have been to Rome several times and have stayed in fantastic hotels, this hotel is not one of them. It is much more pleasant to stay in a lovely hotel in town and just walk where you wish for dinner. This is Rome. Another issue was that the Michelin starred restaurant on the top floor of the hotel was closed during the month of August. We had planned to take the family there for my daughter’s sixteenth birthday. When I questioned the manager about the closing, he told me that I should have read the website. The last straw was when we were robbed of our shopping from our hotel room. We had purchased our daughter new clothes for school in Rome. We left the bag in the room, with other shopping. A day later I was looking for the shopping and it was gone! When I discovered it, I went to the front desk. After speaking to a person about it, I waited over 20 minutes and the person did not return. During the remainder of the day, I called the manager and the front desk manager about the theft. No one ever responded. They said they will look into it. Finally, the last day, I was furious. I was told by friend who lives in Rome, to report the theft to the police. When I asked where the police station was so that I could report the theft, the front desk manager suddenly became interested. Our shopping was never found. In the 10 days since we returned, we have not heard back from the hotel. Do I think I will hear from them? No. it was truly one of the worst run hotels, I can remember. If you enjoy staying outside of Rome as your have no interest in going into town, wish to be in a dirty and sloppy hotel, rude service, be robbed...etc. Stay at this hotel. If you wish to have an enjoyable memorable vacation, or business stay in Rome: Find another accommodation.

Nice hotel

The hotel was beautiful . The staff friendly and accommodating . Room service nice presentation and fast! A bit farther from the sights than I would have preferred, But they did have a shuttle . Only downside is that it stopped running at 8 pm .Also make sure your room gets the city view.

Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous

We stayed here on our last night of a cruise vacation. Wish we had more time to enjoy the luxuriousness of this hotel. Most definitely elegant, pristine, scenic. If you have a chance, this is the one to pick. Wonderful staff, intent on making your stay most comfortable. Check out the website -- it even has it's own Art Collection! The breakfast had 27 jams and jellies to choose from. Definitely would go back to Rome just for this hotel.

Fabulous

We were on the 8th floor due to my husband's diamond rewards and the view of the Vatican and city couldn't have been more beautiful. They shot fireworks on the weekend which were super nice and were great about taking care of their guests. Great for honeymooners like us!
