Apartment living

booked it on Hotels.com but it felt more like an airbnb room in shared quarters. the desk is manned only up till 9pm. The room itself was a very good size that I had. The location is great for getting around to see things. Recommendations for local restaurants were excellent. I was there for such a short period of time that I didn't really use the shared terrace or kitchen but it is a nice things to have. wifi was a bit inconsistent at times.

The property was close to many great restaurants and places for gelato. A short walk to the Trevi Fountain and The Colosseum. Lots to see and do around the Colosseo IN.

Staff (Dimitri and Daiana) were fantastic! Extremely helpful in getting our luggage after Lufthansa lost it. Got on the phone and talked (in Italian) to the lost luggage dept. and got it delivered the next day. Also got us transportation to our cruise ship and taxis. Helped with walking locations of sites in Rome. Breakfast was delivered every morning and a fantastic view of the Colosseo and Forum from the veranda/garden. Location was perfect, within walking distance of many major sites. Highly recommend.

Location!!

Great location...saw the Colosseum from our room!! The staff were super friendly and very helpful. Also, the breakfast brought to the room was really good and much help when traveling. There was nice common space to use; terrace outside and kitchen area. The wifi was spotty....and that was very annoying when we were relying on that for any mobile communication. The bathroom smelled bad at times as though there were sewage smell leaking in. The room was very small...but by Eruopean standards I guess it was not bad.

Great hotel!

Everything was great - the room was very comfortable. The entire hotel appeared to be the 5th floor of this building with two other hotels on two other different floors this was a bit confusing - the name of the hotel is not on the outside of the building and it was not clear what to do once the driver dropped us off. Registration was on the 2nd floor and our room was on the 5th floor. Dimitri and Dianna were amazing. The breakfast was huge and delivered to your door. The area was perfect - restaurants, grocery stores, ATMs abound. 5 minute walk to the Coliseum and other main tourist attractions are not much further. Check out was a little confusing as well - I went down to the 2nd floor and no one answered the buzzer until a customer was coming out. But this was very minor. Would definitely come back!

Great view, friendly staff

Great location! Blocks from the Coliseum and plaza de venicr and other landmarks. Easy to find shops and restaurants nearby. We were on the 5th floor, great view of the Coliseum from the communal kitchen. Breakfast was delivered at a time we picked and consisted of fresh breads, pastries, jams, cheese, yogurt and juice. Very friendly staff. They allowed us to leave our bags at the cgeck in desk for 2 hours after we checked out so we could go exploring.

Amazing

The hotel is really nice with friendly staff, clean room, breakfast in the room service, convenient location and all the facilities you want. Great tea making facility and we had cakes in the room when we checked in. The front desk staff also helped to print out boarding pass and booked taxi for us. It was a brilliant stay in Rome and I wish I have known this hotel earlier. Thanks!

Don't rely on the breakfast to come in

Note: The office to check-in is on the 2nd floor while the rooms are on the 5th floor, the lift works as long as the people on the other floors lock the lift door properly. In any case, I left a bit angry and unhappy because they promised us a mini-breakfast that comes to your room by leaving a paper in the kitchenette area on the night before (before 8pm or so) with the time selection you want your breakfast to be seen at in the morning but it always came late and it didn't arrive at all on the last 2 days of our stay. Even though I wasn't aware of the mini-breakfast when I booked the room, it was promised upon checking-in so I relied on it to come especially on the last day but it never showed up. For coffee, it's on your own to make. The mini-breakfast is mostly butter, a bit of cream cheese, cookies, 2 fruits, cheap fruit juice, and a few other mini things). The neighborhood is very quiet even though it's very close to the Colosseum. The internet was barely working and was disconnecting on numerous occasions. The shower head was sometimes not working properly (a leak somewhere in its lining that is causing a big drop in pressure). Only several TV channels were in English (mainly movies at night) which was suffice for us.

Awesome Experience!

We spent a lovely weekend at the Colosseo In in Rome. We loved the location as it is very close to the Coliseum and Forum, with lots of good restaurants very close by. We walked from the Roma Termini station (about a 20 minute walk) and it is very easy as long as you don't carry a lot of bags. At the address, you buzz the Caesar/Colosseo option and they will let you in where you check in on the second floor. All of the rooms are located on the 5th floor. Daiana, our host, was very gracious, offering us a cup of tea or water while she checked us in and then accompanying us to our room to show us around. They will bring a breakfast by in the morning, but we did not partake as we already had breakfast plans each day. The room was cute and was probably the cleanest room I have ever stayed in. Everything looked brand new and very up to date. The beds were extremely comfortable and the air conditioning was cold and very welcome as the temps outside were in the 90s. Also, even though they are located on a busy street, we do not recall hearing any traffic noise and we slept very soundly. On the last day, Daiana held our bags free of charge after we checked out so we could spend the day touring some more around Rome. She also presented us with a little gift "to help us remember them." I highly recommend the Colosseo In as it was so perfect for a weekend in Rome and it actually highly exceeded any expectations we had for a pleasant place to stay!

Clean room, but poor communication.

I initially gave a grade of 3, but decided on a 4. The room is clean and everything looks new. The amenities are above average and the location is great. What annoyed me is the lack of communication. I emailed the hotel times with no response. I also tried to call but the number on the website appears to be the wrong number. Luckily, the hotel where I stayed the night before in Florence was very helpful and was able call ahead and reach someone. Otherwise I would never have been able to reach anyone at the hotel and would have never found it. The Colosseo In is on the 5th floor of the building and the Caesar is on the 2nd. That's where the reception desk is and that is where you are supposed to call - but the listing doesn't say that. The Expedia listing and the hotel web site say to contact the hotel 48 hours before arrival - but no one at the hotel ever responded. Daniele - who is Italian - called for me, and it took him 15 minutes and 3 phone calls to reach someone who finally told him to check in at the Caesar on the 2nd floor. I don't speak Italian and there was no sign at the Colosseo In that indicates that you are to go to the 2nd floor. I never would have found it. One additional small detail; the free amenities items in the room were not refilled. I don't know if they only give you 1 bottle of water for your stay or if they forgot to restock. They did help get a taxi for me on the last day at 7am and gave me a "to go" bag of snacks which was nice.

Wonderful stay in Rome!

After 2 weeks traveling across Europe, we ended our stay at our favorite B&B of the trip! The room was cool, clean, and modern; the bathroom was clean and private; and the bed was very comfortable with extra pillows. We also loved the breakfast brought to our door each morning and the views from the room and the common areas were amazing!! Just a few blocks from the Colosseum and the Roman forum, and a 5 minute walk to the metro station, it was perfectly located. The sign on the building was very small and easy to miss, and we actually checked in through another B&B on the second floor, but it was no problem and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Our only complaint was the wifi-it was spotty and slow. But overall, we had a fantasitc stay and will definitly recommend the Colosseo In to family and friends!
