"Quite Pleased, By Far the Best We Experienced"
This was the best place we stayed over the course of 10 days in Rome. Clean, clean, clean ... every corner in every space was clean; no grime or mold or mildew, which is no uncommon in many hotels. It is a bit more expensive than other hotels in the area, but well worth it. The general area is quite safe and many sidewalk restaurants in the blocks surrounding the hotel. Grocery store across street. Literally, it is one block from the huge Termini train station, which has hundreds of awesome and affordable food vendors. Good choice and good location. Plenty of busses and Metro station within 200 yards, perfect for sightseeing.

"Newer, Centrally Located, Hotel"
We booked the NH Collection Roma Palazzo Cinquecento on a bundle deal with flight through Travelocity. It was absolutely as advertised. The hotel is right next to Stazione Termini, the main train and metro station in Rome. We arrived at about 12:30 p.m., and couldn't even get ten steps onto the long driveway before a bellman in a top hat took our luggage and walked it up for us. He was gone before we could even tip him! We were then greeted by two friendly faces at the front desk. While one of them checked us in (and confirmed our rate was prepaid, other than city taxes, just as Travelocity had said it would be), the other, a tremendously polite young man named Felice, pulled out a map and started marking places we should go see, and explaining how to get there. Felice then showed us up to our hotel room, which was larger than I had expected, given that this is Europe. The bed was extremely comfortable, two twins pushed together to form a king, but we couldn't notice the gap. The hotel had all the amenities, including toiletries, robes and slippers, and complimentary bottle of water and coffee. The only thing it didn't have was an alarm clock, but everyone uses their phone anymore, right? The outlets on the wall had the traditional euro plug, but the ones on either side of the bed also had USB. Every member of the staff we interacted with was polite, friendly and professional. I can't imagine staying anywhere else on our next visit to the Eternal City

"Couldn't have asked for a better hotel!!"
I don't know where to start - The staff at this hotel is unlike any I've ever heard of. They are extremely friendly and accommodating and so helpful!! They make you feel like the entire staff is there just for you. They book everything for you (trips via train to other cities, tickets to museums, tours, etc.) The location of the hotel is absolutely perfect! Within walking distance to so many things that we wanted to see and in such a beautiful part of the city! I highly recommend this hotel!!

"Great hotel - easy walk to Vatican."
We had a wonderful stay at the Starhotels Michaelangelo. We stayed for four nights and enjoyed out time immensely. The large Family Room was really two hotel room connected with a door, which worked out perfectly for our family of five. The breakfast was very good each morning - both European and American food, with delicious pastries. The staff was professional and helpful with every request. The best thing about this hotel, however, is the location. We were able to walk to almost everything. The Vatican is literally 5 minutes away. The colosseum and Trevi Fountain areas are a but further, but still very walkable. When we did take a cab due to walking fatigue, the fares were cheap because the hotel is so well located.
